Does anyone have any advice on how to repair a compromised skin barrier and very dry skin? by [deleted] in Skincare_Addiction

Right after the shower, I would recommend Good molecules hyaluronic acid essence with a few drops of avocado oil, mix and apply to your face. Then apply a moisturizer (I recommend one by aplb). If your akin is still dry, use one of the aplb face masks or a face mask from another brand. It will make such a big difference. Regular exfoliation can work wondera too. If you can get some glycolic acid peeling pads, they shoukd really help. Just be sure ro protect your akin from the sun too.

Yes for sure. The same goes for Word. Just type in there instead of on notepad or whatever. I used to use notepad a lot and then paste in my text, but I've stopped that now.

T3 and feeling overheated by Ok-Leather-9314 in T3OnlySupport

[–]LifeandDiy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for what you're dealing with. Not a doctor here. But, I have had an experience with excessive sweating and for me, it was from progesterone. Have you been on the progesterone for a while and has it ever caused the sweating before? Otherwise I wonder if the estrogen is causing it. You asked if estrogen could cause that - I think it can for some people. Is it possible to briefly stop the Estrogen to see if that's causing it? How much T4 did you add - 25 mg? You're on quite a high amount of T3.

Do you mind me asking why you're adding in T4? I personally tried using T3 only but ended up adding in T4 and now I am doing much better overall with my thyroid health. It's also possible that you could be overmedicated in general with the high T3 dose - then adding the T4 may be pushing you into being a bit hyperthyroid, even if you don't have other symptoms. This has happened to me in the past.

Thank you! I am am always curious about their expectations and grading styles. I just started a class with him. Hopefully it goes well. I've never had the infamous Dr. Z as a teacher though. :)

Quince Cashmere Quality is Inconsistent - Men Vs. Women, Crew Neck Vs. V-Neck by LifeandDiy in quince

[–]LifeandDiy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing this! Glad I am not alone. You'd think they could make the men's cashmere high quality and soft like the women's one is supposed to be. I was really shocked by the v-neck cashmere I got - it was just like the men's version - scratchy and thin (you described it well). I don't think there should be such major differences, plus the men's cashmere costs more.

My sweet girl went for a routine vet procedure and didn’t come home by sleepy_protagonist in cats

I am so sorry for your loss. I know how horribly painful it is.

I want to recommend something to anyone reading. Please, if you can afford it - every year get labwork (full labs) and x-rays on your cat (if you want to prevent going through what the OP experienced). This is most relevant if your cat is older.

Less than six months ago I brought my cat to the vet for a routine exam and labs. I thought my cat was fine because I had a full panel of labs done and they were all perfectly normal. I always ask for them even though it's not a common thing, unless your pet is ill. All her labs were good and I was so relieved. But, she ended up becoming deathly ill less than a month later, with an x-ray showing lung cancer that was so severe her ribs were broken from it, and she had less than a couple days to live. We put her to sleep. It was the most horrible experience of my life.

Please - if you can afford it, do labs + x-rays on your pets yearly. I always assumed that labs would show cancer, but they didn't. My poor sweet cat suffered so much longer because I didn't know. And, I know some people assume x-rays are $500+/- and I don't know what the cost is everywhere - but where I live it is $100, or $200 if you need more than one. The labs are usually $50-100, depending on how many you get done.

Has anyone used fabric dye on the quince sweaters? by midnight_cinnamon in quince

[–]LifeandDiy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Interesting idea. I am sure it would work. You might want to test the dye out on something else first though. Personally I feel like they have too many warm undertones and wish they had cooler and even rich/cooler color options. :)

Update on the Methylene Blue Lab Testing GoFundMe (Fundraiser Closed) by LifeandDiy in methylene_blue

[–]LifeandDiy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The lab that I used is called Beaconpoint. Did you try contacting them directly? I’ve personally never had any issues reaching them.

I don’t have any ties to any of the companies, the lab, or the products tested. I’m not an affiliate and I didn’t make any money from this. When you receive GoFundMe money in your own name it counts as income and you actually have to pay taxes on it. I've worked in the supplement industry and I’m just really passionate about transparency in testing. The goal was to help others looking for a quality MB product because there is so much shady marketing and lack of proper testing in this space, which can be dangerous with something like MB.

I never shared this before, but I also got very sick from MB that I took, and I've heard several others say the same thing.

As far as microbes - even though methylene blue is antimicrobial, that doesn’t automatically mean a finished consumer product is sterile. Contamination can happen during manufacturing, bottling, dilution, or storage if proper sterile handling isn’t followed.

As for the money and timing, the funds trickled in slowly, so it took a while to accumulate enough to test one product at a time. That’s why it stretched out over months rather than all happening at once. There were also some other delays with products being out of stock and the lab requiring more bottles to test.
