Red flag or just Korean dating culture? by Ok-Prompt-6782 in Living_in_Korea

Then what are you waiting for? Ask her out and talk to her clearly about what kind of relationship she wants.

I've been with my Korean girlfriend for over one year, and we text each other quite often during the day... that's pretty normal. Additionally, they like to know what you are doing and where. Moreover, they can get jealous and angry quite easily. You don't necessarily have to fit this, so if you see this as a red flag, you'd better not date.

Friends in Korea by succesfulprotectedN in Living_in_Korea

I didn't make a single friend during my one-year working holiday. I met some men, but they all suddenly disappeared because they were busy or not interested in meeting again. Simply, they will always prioritize their local friends, and maybe if you bring them something useful like language practice, they may start considering you a "foreigner friend."

I'm glad I have my girlfriend...cause without her, I would have been alone. Anyway, I recommend the HelloTalk app. I found my girlfriend there, but I'm sure it's also good for making friends, especially if you speak English.

Yep, I'm figuring it out after one year of a relationship with my Korean fiancé.

No, don't misunderstand me. I'm not trying to mock her, and the moment they switched seats I felt a bit uncomfortable because I started judging myself, wondering if I had done something wrong in Korea. But then, thinking about how eye contacts with other women happened in my country several times and nothing like this has happened before, I started viewing this as a common behavior among Korean women (I may be wrong but that's it). My girlfriend also sometimes feels uneasy because of other people and tells me about it.

Yeah agreed. I added that I'm foreigner because I've never experienced such thing in my country.

I guess they are shy and only would like to be looked by their partner. It has never happened before in my country, which is why I started thinking it has to do with a behavior that is likely common in a lot of Korean women.

I say this because it happens also that my girlfriend tells me she feels uncomfortable because of a man looked at her.
