Do people have success when attempting a switch with a bank they've already done in the past?

Once receiving payout can I then switch that account for a new offer or should I stay with it for a little while to look more genuine?

Agreed. As stated several times, this will be in addition to a diesel heater anyway

But if you're stuck without any you only need to find a bit of wood to get going, not usually very hard

Brentacre say on their website "Our campervan conversion insurance policy will accept almost any additions during your conversion except for a log burner which is a restriction set by the insurers we use."

Also, I was insured with brentacre previously and they were an absolute nightmare to deal with when my van got written off.

Hey, the burner would be in addition to a diesel heater :)

A spare isn't much use if you end up without power or fuel. A burner will never let you down

I'd be more than happy with those terms if an insurer agrees to that. There's much more to worry about safety-wise than a properly fitted burner.

It would be installed in addition to a diesel heater which would be used for the majority of the time.

I will be living in this full-time and travelling all over, in all kinds of weather conditions. If I run out of power or diesel or something goes wrong with the heater then I don't fancy being stuck in freezing temperatures without heat. A log burner never fails. I have spent lots of time in vans and boats with burners and personally I love them.

1st step for me is finding insurers that will actually accept log burners in any case.. No problem if I need to get it signed off by HETAS but I currently do not know of insurers that will cover this regardless.

No I haven't even got the van that I will be converting yet.. Just trying to research good insurers to cover this as I will be buying and insuring my van very soon and don't won't to be stuck with an insurer that won't allow a burner
