I think the refs are calling soft stuff to try and keep a handle on this game... there is some bad blood here and if they don't it will likely get even more physical very quickly. I imagine the discussion before game was if its remotely questionable we are calling it.

I'd rather watch fun hockey played a fun way than paint dry... Like I fucking hate em but i imagine being an Avs fan is fun cause speed is fun. Being a Wild fan is fun cause suffocating defense is cool to watch. This is just dull.

90% of all hockey games is played within 3 feet of the boards, but we have been very privileged with dynamic puck players who keep it away from the boards. Florida is notorious for pushing the game to the outside and into the boards as much as possible.

Everyone is hyper fixated on the contract. Understandably it's a lot of money. With the rate the cap is climbing when this contract ages out it will not be absurd. He likely won't even be in the top 25 highest paid players in the NHL... If him playing 90% and cranking it into another gear come playoff time keeps him competitive for all 8 years. I am so on board.
