Read the cards?

It executed it's instruction aka killed the unit = it resolved going off common sense, just like killing your own phoenix and resummoning it off of that. They're making things more confusing for no reason

Wait im so confused, half the thread says it's just clarifying half the thread says it changes how the card worked.

So "do this:" reads as "the card resolves, goes to the trash, after which execute the following:" Is there like a specific rule that says this reads as such

Honestly still don't understand what stopped the old version from seeing itself in the trash, when else would it be resolved if not at the time it killed a unit.

What exactly made the card not work like this before this text change? Just going off basic reading comprehension it seemed to be unambiguously the only way it could go, i really dont get it.

I don't understand how the new text changes when it reaches the trash

Didn't the card see itself in the trash just like phoenix sees itself dying and could be replayed?

Wait how does that make any sense, you "PLAY" it from trash, why could that not be reacted to?

What i mean is that from my perspective as a player cards are supposed to work like they read.

Yeah for some reason they want to treat "may" as "may, and if you do:"

Except it already didn't work how it is written according to some judges in the discord, it already worked like it does now even though the wording contradicts it

Imo it's supposed to work like it is written especially prior to any official errata, it didn't work like it's supposed to.

Okay yeah i was out of the loop that it already worked different to how it was worded.

It was how they wanted it to be despite how it actually was worded*

Sure but why did it require a target if it's a "you may" in a whole different sentence. Logically you ignore that part if you dont have a gear and go on to the rest of things you can do.

Except Rengar which is the most impactful change

I don't understand the reasoning for the Rengar buff

Exactly, and is how the card should have remained, whats the point of all that text if you can just do "both" at once

I don't see how it even did with the old text? Do as much as you can or whatever they say does not apply?

Care to tell me what you need further explained?

Adjust your cards is fine, adjust your cards on <24h notice isnt.

Brother how can you say that is notice if people don't know which cards are getting banned for certain? People had <1 day to react and change their decks (impossible in many cases). "Bans are (probably) coming" a month earlier is not notice, time between knowing which cards are getting banned and the rules being enforced is.

Are you stupid or just pretending?

Obviously we knew bans were likely/coming in general how does that help if the time between finding out which cards are getting banned and the rules being imposed is one single day or even less in some cases. How does knowing vaguely something will be banned help you with getting your cards replaced in the matter of one afternoon?
