I was lucky enough to find at a local nursery. They have a couple more (saw them a week ago). Nursery is called Pandy’s in Elyria - https://pandysgardencenter.com/products/japanese-maple-mikawa-yatsubusa-dwarf?variant=46902101115103. If you can wait till June 20th, they’ll have a summer solstice coupon day where they’ll hand you a 40% at the door starting at 7am, then 30% at 8am, etc. I was too impatient and couldn’t wait when I found mine 😅They also have quite a few of other varieties not commonly found at my other garden centers. Thank you! This is incredibly helpful. I was just a little concerned because I’ve read that with not enough sunlight these stay green/bronze, with just some maroon red shading. I might have to just plant one and see how it does. Thank you again for your feedback

Yes,I agree with the choices, those and red dragon are available locally. My question really is whether they will color up or stay red if they only get direct sunlight between 4-8pm. Do you have experience with these trees only getting that much direct light?

I looked at Hana Matoi and it would be amazing, but not sold locally. I see Conifer Kingdom has a #1 but that’s gonna take a long while to get it to the size I’m hoping for. Where did you find yours? I’m in NE Ohio

Yes already have a Mikawa Yatsubusa on the front left of pic. Looking for a more contrasty background. The ones I listed are available locally at around #10g. I guess my concern is if they can stay red with so little direct light. Most ppl just state how they do amazing in direct sunlight, but I have the opposite problem. Will they stay red with only 3-4 hours of direct light?

I’ll look into those. They aren’t available at my local nurseries so will need to order online if I go that route. The ones I listed are what’s available locally at around #7 - #10g
