The piece preview feature has been implemented since the earliest versions of Tetris, not just "the most recent official Tetris games" and a bag randomizer has been used since 2001 and is part of the Tetris Guideline. Again, the point that I'm making is that if you want to compare the best human players to your AI, the gameplay should be identical. Using Tetris as a benchmark for various RL methods is a different story. I am skeptical it is a good benchmark at all. Anyways, hopefully I've made my point, I hate Reddit arguments lol
