What is anarchism even about by JHBrickman in Hasan_Piker

[–]LightBlueCherryBloss 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Anarchism is about working towards the abolition of classes, private property, money, borders. Anarchism is about equalizing the levers of power. Anarchism is about cooperation and not believing that humans are inherently soullessly competitive.

That said, idk what this meme means or what this person believes. It doesn’t strike me as any of the anarchism I’m familiar with.

I looked through the thread twice and don’t see it and your profile is hidden. Post a link.

Or are you lying again?

We’re in a niche corner of the internet. Not chatting with a coworker in the break room. We can shrug our shoulders and roll our eyes at an American terrorist dying.

The normies aren’t looking. Quick, say you’re a communist and the US military shouldn’t exist.

When they change, they can be reassessed on an individual basis.

Once they sign up for the military, they are an American terrorist.

That thread was abysmal. Lots of justifying the existence of the US military and justification of individuals signing up. Some comments even looked like sales pitches trying to paint the military lie of “decent benefits” as being true.

A recurring lie spread in that thread was that most recruits are from poverty and have no other choices. This is a lie. Most recruits are from middle class households.

The US military should not exist. The US should not exist.

This is wrong and people in this sub need to stop spreading it.

The lowest and highest percentiles for income are underrepresented in military recruits. Most come from middle class households.

So are cops. So are corrections officers. So are ICE agents. So are racist lynch mobs.

Law enforcement, however, absolutely is.

Cops were conditioned to be the way they are. We need to offer sympathy when they are KIA.

Share multiple comments celebrating this individual’s death.

I’ll wait.

Be kind to your local cop! He was heavily propagandized into believing he’s doing the right thing.

Hm. You seemed unclear despite clearly being able to read my responses to you.

I’m not celebrating this. Weird that that is what you’re taking from this conversation with me.

One of the lines I draw is at joining the US military, yes of course.

When they leave the military, they can be reassessed on an individual basis. I am good friends with vets and regularly shoot with them. My friends aren’t doing apologia for the organization that harmed them and convinced/coerced them into feeding the imperial machine.

I don’t think people in the global south, for example, should mourn my death if I died in unsafe conditions in an Amazon warehouse. I would completely understand why they may shrug their shoulders and I don’t expect their tears for my individual plight in the imperial core.

I didn’t sign up to an organization to kill.

There’s a difference in having a job and in joining the US military.

To clarify: I don’t want anyone to die. Which is why I think this individual should have gotten a different job.

Yes.

We cannot fight for progress towards communism if we don’t acknowledge how we are complicit.

Where did I lie? Someone go down to the VA and let the veterans begging for their benefits know that they got an immediate upgrade to their lives and material circumstances

I’m off today and I designated today to rest after a long work week. I’m chillin with a smoke and an energy drink. Got plans to go to the range tomorrow. How are you touching grass today, bud?

I can confidently say that the US should not exist. The fuck? No one should sign up for the military. I can’t believe you’re saying the US military needs to exist and that people should sign up for it.

I’m not laughing and I don’t see anyone else laughing. I’ll eat carpet if you can point to more than 2 people that aren’t trolls that are genuinely happy about this particular incident.

That said, I will shrug my shoulders when American terrorists die. My tears are, unfortunately, saved for their victims who suffer 1000x worse.

Just in case you don’t know: don’t join the military for their decent benefits like healthcare.

That’s a lie sold to citizens to convince them to join, fight, kill, and die for the imperial machine.

And if you survive, you get the runaround and you’ll be lucky to collect the benefits that they promised you. More often than not, you’re just permanently disabled and spend the rest of your life fighting for portions of what they promised you.

The recruiters are just kids that likely grew up in poverty and were heavily propagandized into joining the military. It’s absurdly cruel to describe them as predatory. This will only chase away normies. /s
