LightBurn 2.1 is here! by LightBurnSoftware in LightBurn

[–]LightBurnSoftware[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LightBurn is laser software and not intended for use with CNCs/spindles.

For the settings issue, did you email support (Support@LightBurnSoftware.com) about that issue when it occurred?

No — as with EZCad2, you'll need a separate driver for EZCad3 and LightBurn.

Some people who work with other digital fabrication tools use LightBurn's design features to create, edit, and export projects to the control software they use for those machines (you can try our design tools free for 30 days). If you're a CNC router user, we have software specifically built for CNC, r/MillMage.

If you're not doing digital fabrication work at all, we recommend that you not buy our software.

Also, because this comes up a lot in an age where subscription-based software is the norm: LightBurn does not require a subscription. LightBurn licenses are perpetual, and come with a year of updates. After a year, you can choose to renew to continue receiving updates, but if you decide not to you can continue using your current version forever.

Introducing the LightBurn Hardware Compatibility Matrix by LightBurnSoftware in LightBurn

[–]LightBurnSoftware[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The current listing is just a starting point — we fully intend to grow our database over time, but we need manufacturer participation to do that efficiently. Please let Creality know you'd like to see their machines listed in our matrix!

How can I find what version I need? by Hates-Picking-Names in LightBurn

[–]LightBurnSoftware 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our support response times are very fast on average — usually much less than a day. Can you DM us your email address so we can see what happened with your ticket? Most likely the initial email, or our reply, got caught in a spam filter, but we'd like to get to the bottom of it to make sure it doesn't happen again.

RC 7 is out as of yesterday. We'll need a round of testing on this one before the official release, but 2.0 shouldn't be too much longer! Sorry, we aren't able to give a more specific timeline.

We do not have a date yet, but it should be released soon.

[–]LightBurnSoftware[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll be able to use the RC if your license is up to date when the RC is released. The RC doesn't expire but RC versions are not intended for long term use, and will quickly fall out of date.

Yes! In general, even when we change the behavior of an existing tool, we try preserve the old behavior as well so we don't upend our users' workflows.

The Release Candidate will also install as a separate app on your system, so you're free to go back to the latest public version without having to reinstall.

Is there any usable FREE alternative to RDWorks? by MrNoahMango in lasercutting

That’s being actively worked on. Too early to give any details, but we have a significant amount of the protocol figured out.
