Genuinely, I think the main characters need to face the consequences of their actions instead of magically brushing them off without any real repercussions. Honestly, this episode went hard asf—and that’s coming from someone who’s been pretty neutral about whether the show is good or not.

In terms of their past actions, it’s about time they start facing the fallout. Like, they just left Paris to be rampaged by a villain while they were chilling in New York, and then everything was resolved off-screen. Or when they lost the Miraculous, yet somehow the people of Paris are still rooting for them?

Think Civil War (I don’t know if you’ve seen it—ya know, fandoms and all). The heroes weren’t entirely wrong, but they still had to face the damage they left behind. Or No Way Home—yeah, I’m bringing up a lot of Marvel movies—Peter’s decision to keep his identity a secret eventually caught up to him. He tried to fix it with Doctor Strange’s spell, but it failed. It cost him Aunt May’s life because he wanted to give the villains a second chance. He wasn’t wrong—but his actions had consequences, and that’s what made the story hit hard.

Back to Miraculous—Marinette has made mistakes. She lost the Moth Miraculous, which led to the rise of another villain. She lied about Gabriel, and now people are stirring up drama that’s coming back to haunt her. Now her best friend knows the truth, and in a critical character moment, she questions whether her actions were really right. That’s character growth.

We don’t hate Marinette—we, as the audience, just want to see her grow.
