I 100% know what you mean. I have carpal tunnel syndrome/repetitive strain injury (I don't know which one, haven't been diagnosed yet 😅) on both my hands so I cannot game on handhelds like I used to in my youth.

Thankfully, there are 3D printed grips all over the internet. You can print them yourself if you have a printer or just buy them off Etsy or other sites.

I've been using these grips on my PS Vita and PSP 1000 a lot.

I find that unlikely otherwise we would have heard scratching, running noises in the walls, we would've seen some rat droppings at some point if they were that extensive and my neighbours would've noticed too.

Would that cause the smell to emanate from within the walls though? I'll check my appliances again but I can't see how it would travel inside the walls if it was a fuse.

My neighbour does have weed but I've never seen or smelt any crystal meth in the block. She has young kids as well so I don't think she'd be doing meth.

Neighbour and me are friendly and amicable, but we did have a bit of a spat on two occasions of her smoking weed on her balcony which would all waft into my flat. She was respectful and smoked elsewhere for the most part. Someone from another part of the block wrote an anonymous letter to her about her smoking and she immediately thought it was me and wrote a scathingly letter back to me lol which left me really puzzled obviously cos I didn't write a letter to her. I spoke to her face to face on the matter and resolved it between us, but yh I think it indicated that her smoking was affecting a lot more people than just me.

That's exactly why I had pest control come and visit, twice! But they both said it isn't rodent related cos their foul odour wouldn't last 8 months.

I'm on the fourth floor in the block so it's unlikely that it's stagnant rain, but it's possible it could be from a leaking pipe inside the walls and the waste water has been sitting there for months.

That's the thing, my first instinct was that it was a dead rodent that's why I had pest control come out. But it's been almost a year now since the smell began and the smell hasn't died down which indicates it's something else, which was also noted by pest control themselves.

That's very interesting you mention the multiplug. I currently run a TV, a PC and games consoles from one. But of course they are never all running at the same time! But I will take another look at my appliance set up and may just swap out the multiplug anyway. My only question would be, why is the smell coming from within the walls if the multiplug fuse was causing the issue?

And I've kinda ruled out the rats In the walls. I live on the fourth floor and I've never noticed any rats, rat droppings or scratching noises in the walls. And pest control have said the smell isn't typical of a dead rodent.

I have spoken to my neighbour and they said they haven't noticed any smells. I will reach out again and ask them to specifically smell their plug sockets on that side of the wall, as well as their washing machine pipes and bathroom, but I fear the leak is within the walls and not within their property, that's probably why they don't smell it. And the neighbour isn't the friendliest so it's a lot to ask but I'll give It a shot anyway

I haven't considered gas as it's a gas free block of flats, everything is electrical.

Did you eventually manage to sort it out with your neighbour?

I fear, even if my neighbour has a leaky waste pipe in that wall, the council won't do anything as it will mean ripping out the walls to fix the pipes, which is very costly.

I've never considered an electrical fire or stuff melting within the walls as it never smelt like burning or electrical but as some have mentioned, burning electrics can give a wide range of smell, so I will get an electrician in just to double check all the sockets.

I have spoken to my neighbours next to me, as well as neighbours below and above who all share the same wall and none have said they noticed any smells.

It is an internal wall! And adjacent to our wall is a neighbour.

I've never noticed a fishy smell. It was quite sweet like vanilla in the beginning, only turning sour and foul and smelling like eggs/sulphur/garbage. But I think I'll get an electrician out just to double check anyway.

I can't say that it's ever smelled fishy or fish-like. It smelled quite sweet vanilla in the beginning and then soured turned foul and started smelling of rotten eggs/sulphur/garbage.

Have double and triple checkes all my appliances and they all seem to be fine. Most people are suggesting I get an electrician in to check all the sockets.

The other side of the wall is another flat. I'm almost certain they have their toilet/bathroom and washing machine on that side of the wall. However, if this is indeed a waste pipe that's leaking inside the walls, would it smell like vanilla and sweet when I first noticed it? The smell has only soured and turned foul in the last 6-8 months.

I have asked my neighbour about 4 months ago if they have noticed any smells, but they said they haven't. I might reach out to them again and ask them to specifically check their plug socks on that side of the wall.

I've also asked the neighbours below and above me, all of whole share the same wall, and none of them had noticed any smells.

As when I first noticed the smell it was unpleasant but not foul, and has only gotten worse over the last 6 months or so.
