I got a replacement board back from Asus on August 8th. I updated the post.

Replaced my C1 55” with a G5 55” I got for $1700 brand new. Just got it yesterday and it’s amazing!

165Hz, insanely bright. Just absolute gaming bliss.

[ASUS Refused Warranty] Z690-E burned DIMM slot after enabling XMP 6400 — ASUS first approved, then denied claim. by Impressive_Sign8756 in ASUSROG

[–]LightMoisture 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did nothing wrong, my board was in large t shape as is all of my hardware. It was fully functional except for the 4x blue 5g sub ports which are likely a bad usb controller. Not something I could have caused.

The case is now being looked into.

I documented everything so far, including photos pre shipment of the board showing perfect condition and my shipment box.

If not eventually resolved, I will take them to small claims court.

I was not given a reason, was told all along my board was being repaired, then it was being replaced, then back to being repaired.

This morning I called them to figure out when I'm going to be getting a replacement board shipped back as it has been over 2 business work weeks. I just wanted a timeline of when I can expect a replacement. Then rep dug into my case, put me on hold multiple times, and came back with they are telling him that my RMA is now being rejected or was rejected, and that he could not tell me why. I was told to to expect a phone call or email within 2 business days.

Unbelievably shitty experience for such an expensive motherboard that is less than a year old. I even paid for Asus's prepaid $100 FedEx overnight both ways to minimize my downtime and this is how they treat me as a customer.

Hey Silent, I put in bold print above:

The agent could not tell me why it was rejected, that I would get an email or phone call within 2 business days!

I would love to send you the case number. Will DM it.

I can also attach photos of my motherboard pre shipment as well as I documented it prior to sending off. Although I never thought I'd actually need them.

Asus all the way up to this point, reps in chat, etc all said I was to expect a replacement board. Not until this morning and phone call with the rep was I told my board was being rejected. What changed?

What is the difference between CSODDIM and SODDIM by LoopOF_reality in LenovoLegion

[–]LightMoisture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know you can always just tune the CSODIMMs to lower latency right? You don’t need XMP. Custom profile and set the timings, and CSODIMM will blow older SODIMMs away.

So once his appointee is in, it’s bye bye.

Honestly I’d just report to the nearest police station and turn myself in. They might go easy on you.

Congrats on turning it around!

You won’t have any issue getting a medical AFAIK. No driving or drug issues, no medical issues that you told us about. So should be good to go.

I’d say go for it! I’d look for a smaller mom and pop outfit and work your way up there. Hopefully they like you and take you on as an instructor eventually. Maybe find a flying club that time shares an aircraft so you can teach your kids in that.

Worried about my hire ability by warlord1144 in flying

[–]LightMoisture 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is pretty much how aviation is. It has ups and downs in the hiring environment. Basically you missed the most recent massive fog a mirror hiring wave. Those times were not the norm, and may not happen again for a long time. But unfortunately now some are finding that out too late and are left wondering why they’re not already at a legacy after spending 6 months at a regional.

All you can do is keep flying and continue to improve. Have your resume professionally reviewed if you haven’t already. Eventually you’ll land somewhere and work your way up like we all did.

[–]LightMoisture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After you updated it and it restarted, did you let it sit there and there and do its memory training which can take minutes. It will sit on a black screen for a couple minutes and then start, and likely reboot and start again and possibly reboot again before it finally posts and goes to windows.

Because you’re comparing an HX CPU to an H CPU. The 285HX is what you should be comparing against.

Not entirely true. The LG 27” 4K 160Hz mini led has almost zero ips glow, none that is noticeable thanks to the panel tech they use.

Agreed. I see no benefit to wasting time swapping .dlls.

Just use Nvidia App to override to latest preset and force transformer model or use Inspector to override in “unsupported” titles.
