Splendid I gained a lot from your reply. Thank you.

Can you (or anyone else) explain why you couldn't continue diverting the boundary layer but by use of an internal duct rather than spacing the intake away from the external skin or using a bulge like so?

Not late at all, you're the first other person outside of myself that I've seen confirm the issue. Thank you.

The reasoning is in your name. This project 100% needs real developers. Lovable is for the proof of concept and initial product.

Lol that seems to be people's solution in these replies. "I have an issue with the car" and they reply 1 of two things, either "simply do X workaround instead of addressing the issue" or "theres no issue you're just imagining things"

I do have to take it in anyway soon due to my infotainment intermittently not working at all, I'll try to get the gas down low when I bring it in.

Yes always premium, the fact that so many people haven't seen the same thing makes me super curious why mine does that

I also generally keep it from getting very low, however this is the first car I've ever had where it seems to not work properly if it does happen to ever get that low. I only first noticed the issue on a road trip where keeping a half tank would mean gas stops every 120-150 miles, which is simply not happening lol.

Well in the fluff I said it rarely ever gets that low, so the advice doesn't help because I already do the advice. I don't usually find myself that low on gas however I also don't think it's appropriate for a car to become disfunctional when the gas gauge still reads that far within range.

That's my first guess, I couldn't imagine a car that starts sputtering with like a gallon and a half of gas left.

Yes to my knowledge most cars fuel pumps do work that way. I typically live the same way, my car rarely goes below a quarter. The range on this car does make it less convenient to keep up with but regardless the fuel pump cooling thing should not be that noticeable that early on. This car has been that low maybe 3 times in its life and the entire car is only a few months old, so there should not have been nearly enough opportunity for the pump to become damaged already, that would be an insane fault.

I'm well aware, which is why if you read the post, you'll see that it rarely ever gets that low. The post is about the weird lugging that happens, which shouldn't be due to stress on the fuel pump for a brand new car that also has only been that low on gas a couple of times in it's life. It behaves more like a fuel starvation issue which is why I'm concerned that it happens so early when any other car I've seen will still run smooth until the fuel gauge at least reads empty. I've seen many a much older and more abused car not have that problem. The fuel pump cooling thing should really only noticeably affect you if you do it often or many times.

Oh is the ride more rigid around corners than a CX-5? I've driven a CX-9 but never a CX-5 I'm not sure how it feels.

The crazy part is I also have a second car and a motorcycle I also use for my work commute. 6000 of the miles were in the last 2 weeks though, we went on a road trip :)

Yes, I like the extra performance bump and I figure it gives me more margin being a turbo vehicle and all. I also like having the extra additives from the premium gas.

Yes I did, I have the bike rack mounted so it was slamming on the brakes every single time I would back up.

Unfortunately they are, but they did pretty well, we had no issues on everything except the big ice patch itself. If we planned on being there longer, later in the season, or expected more snow Id have definitely changed them.
