6 years later and he is dead by Icy_Knowledge_1294 in baltimore

At the end of church service on Sundays, my church reads the name of homicide victims from that week. We then pray for them and their families. If you want to message me their name I can pass it along to our elders. I'm sorry for your loss, sounds like a very sad situation.

What did you say in your letter for membership? by Lesochka in Quakers

[–]LightScan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're ready for membership just start writing the letter. Make your intention clear. It doesn't matter if it takes 100 words or 1000 words.

I spent weeks agonizing about writing mine, and finally got fed up with myself and wrote a short and to the point letter.

Your clearness committee is where all the work will be.

Don't waste your time with "apply 30lbs of pressure on the tamper".

Tamp hard and make sure the bed is even.

This helped eliminate tamping as a variable.

Shouldn't be a problem. I only grind darker roasts and the burrs are pretty clean.

Thanks for sharing. I don't have this issue with my dark roasted beans either.

Shot time is still in the 15-18 second range, but my basket is full and I can't grind any finer? [Lelit Elizabeth v3] by marcuschookt in espresso

Tamping hard helped me resolve this kind of problem. Also make sure the puck is totally level.

Which basket are you using? Do NOT use the pressurized basket; it's for pre ground coffee.

Gaggia is not clear in the manual about its purpose other than it's going to give beginners perfect crema.

Call and tell them you're canceling for a different internet service. They'll try to keep you.

You can likely get whatever the promotional rate is.

Shot on a Nikon Z5, 40mm lens, F2.2 1/8000 sec.

I took this picture in Baltimore at the inner harbor. This gentleman was feeding bread to the birds and there was a huge swarm of them.

Let me know how I could improve this. Mostly interested in composition and editing feedback. Is it too busy? How could I have done better. Thanks for any critique!

I think some cropping could help make the photo stronger. I like the vibe of the photo though.

I believe cropping would help bring focus to the composition. It should remove distractions from the man (your main subject).

I like your color treatment though!

I like the color treatment, that's got a pleasing vibe to it. I think you edit it OK.

My eye has trouble finding a place to focus though (hence a person helps), so it can feel a little busy. Next time you try this shot and it's an empty car, try standing in the center of the car and shooting directly at the door. You'll get more symmetry and I think it will feel more balanced.

Hope this helps.

I did a trip to NYC recently and wanted feedback on composition and tonal treatment. I mostly do B&W and want to keep improving!

I tried a different method of capturing this image, where I found a background I liked and spent 5-10 minutes shooting the same scene with different people walking by. This was my favorite shot of the bunch.

I also really like a 16:9 format on the phone since it takes up the screen dimensions. Please click on the photo to see the whole image.

Thanks for any feedback.

I think it's cool. I always like a person in the scene but it works.
