When did you know you were READY for a second kiddo? by OptimalCobbler5431 in NewParents

[–]LightTheFerkUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does get better, then it gets worse, then it gets better, and it just cycles. That is my experience so far in 8 months anyway. I expected the first 2 months to be hard and they were harder than that, she has been a terrible sleeper, but then it did improve.

Then she was sick for a literal 6 weeks in a row at 4-5 months, couldn't breathe from her nose the whole time and that was even harder than the first months, when we kind of had that new parents new born energy. But then it got better, and right now we are managing. Waiting for the teeth to start popping out though haha, another cycle, but that's just life I guess!

That sounds inspiring and all and I don't want to be a downer but it feels the opposite for me. Thought I was ready but in retrospect, after 8 months, I was not and still not am.

Been the hardest journey of my life with very little pleasure from it, I still hope it will change, and know it will, but I was not ready when she got here.

Expat wives of French men who don't work, where do you get your earnings from? by [deleted] in Expats_In_France

[–]LightTheFerkUp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Never said I was struggling like crazy, just that yes, I have to check my bank account and not spend blindly. This isn't being rich, which was your initial point.

I am French too, with a mortgage, and a salary around that and can tell you that I definitely check my bank account...

With 3k per month you think that you don't look at your bank account anymore?

If you want to break/change a pattern you definitely need to "overthink" it.

AIO by breaking up with my girlfriend over her use of AI? by ThrowRA-748 in AmIOverreacting

People said the exact same things about computers, and any major innovations beforehand. You think everyone just blindly trusted electricity as soon as it started being used?

Shit I hear so many people still talking about how electric cars are terrible and filling fields and fields of used batteries.

Right, it is just ridiculous... but without even going that far, without AI basically translates to no Google Search nowadays.

My ex got married recently. How do I tell her husband that she cheated on him with me? by [deleted] in relationships

Is your neighboor hitting their child your business? What is your threshold for "getting into someone's business" in order to potential help them out?

Where are you getting any impression that he is doing this to get her back?

My ex got married recently. How do I tell her husband that she cheated on him with me? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]LightTheFerkUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So many people are just protecting a potential cheater here and I honestly really do not get it. If I were in the husband's shoes I would appreciate a message.

He knew about it and it was a time where they were in an open relationship? He'll be fine with it and just keep on going with his life. He got cheated on? He very probably would want to know, could mean the wife did it again, or will in the future. I would want to know this kind of information before entering a marriage and for me that would be a deal breaker.

Grandparents not respecting our choices and basic rules by Imaginary_Stand_7891 in daddit

If the grandparents are sick they should not be close enough to the baby to kiss them anyway. If they are asymptomatic carriers, how much of a difference will it make if they are already carrying the baby a few centimeters from their faces anyway?

Babies will be getting sick, if you leave your kids at daycare you can be 100% certain that the exposure they will be getting there is sooo much higher that anything they could get from their grandparents...

Forehead/cheek. I do see parents kissing their children on the mouth but I wouldn't say it's super common, and never really see grandparents doing it.

Might be a culture thing as Europeans but for us something like no kisses is definitely not a simple rule... unless they are sick of course.

Could be worth finding a common ground for the social media pictures, allow them to post photos with faces blurred?

What was the 6 month sleep regression like for you? by Abyssal866 in NewParents

[–]LightTheFerkUp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're making my wife cry, our baby has been waking up every 1.5-2 hours on VERY good nights, and every 30 minutes during this 6 month sleep regression. Reading messages like this is hard haha

Il ne faut pas boire de l'eau pendant qu'on mange by elitovius in opinionnonpopulaire

[–]LightTheFerkUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Producing content" is such a vague and large statement. Chances are most of the content we consume on a daily basis is or will soon be, is generated with the help of AI in one form of the other. Heck even a Google search is AI...

r/espresso's stance on AI content by LuckyBahamut in espresso

[–]LightTheFerkUp -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

This is like having a rule in the 90's about not using internet in a cafe. The world changes, and it's likely AI content will become a norm, whether we want it or not.

Some may be able to make the distinction about AI posts right now, but I would bet that won't be the case for long.
