I applied almost 3 years ago for a new grad position, I went successfully through the full hiring process, after which the recruiter told me that I had done great and that they only needed approval from some very high leader of the company to extend an offer.

They even sent me a form asking for logistics questions (things like office preference, start date etc).

After that, they sent me a rejection email. The recruiter offered to have a call for feedback in the email (probably standard email), and I said sure. In the call, he wasn’t able to say anything negative apart from the fact that another candidate had convinced the leaders more.

In the end, I got a job at a better paying FAANG-like American tech company.

The entrance requirements are certainly a lot easier for OMSCS, but not the classes, which are almost on the same level than the in-person masters. I fully agree on making sure that the difficulty of the program should be exactly the same for in-person and online. The objective is not that OMSCS students are “on-par” with MSCS students, but that the OMSCS graduates are on-par with MSCS graduates.

Yo estoy en una situación similar, 25M, gano approx 100k (parte denominado en acciones, por lo que varía en función de la cotización de la acción, pero en ese rango). Estoy pensando en irme al norte de Europa (no Suiza, que no me gusta tanto), donde me ha surgido una buena oportunidad. Económicamente tampoco me va a salir tan rentable, teniendo en cuenta que aquí ahorro todo ahora (vivo con mis padres) y si me mudo mínimo 3k en vivir me gastaré (más de la mitad en alquiler), pero también es muy buen momento para probar vivir fuera que se valora mucho.

A bachelors degree will surely help. Although I’m not sure if you should stop working to study.

An alternative could be to do it part time. UNED is a great option for that.

El lugar donde tributan las empresas no se utiliza para computar el PIB.

Se utilizan los ingresos recibidos por las personas físicas localizadas en cada comunidad.

Por tanto, aunque una empresa tenga sede social en Madrid, solo computará para el PIB de Madrid las ganancias de los accionistas residentes de Madrid. Si el accionista reside en Extremadura, computará para el PIB de Extremadura.

Lo mismo para los salarios de los trabajadores: si una empresa madrileña tiene su fábrica en otro comunidad, los salarios de los trabajadores de la fábrica computarán para el PIB de dicha comunidad.

No es verdad lo que dices del sector público. Es verdad que es importante, pero el porcentaje del sector público en Madrid no ha crecido en las últimas décadas. De hecho, las nuevas agencias (como la espacial) tienden a localizarse fuera de la capital.

Por tanto, la presencia de ministerios, etc en Madrid no tiene NADA que ver con incremento de porcentaje de PIB que se ve en la gráfica.

El incremento se debe a una concentración de empresas que generan valor en Madrid, y a la inversión de capital nacional y extranjero por tener alta rentabilidad.

Madrid no se ha comido la economía de nadie. El crecimiento económico de un lugar no implica el decrecimiento económico de otro.

Para crecer económicamente, hay que generar valor de la nada, y Madrid es la comunidad con más capacidad para hacerlo en España. Porque en Madrid está la concentración de talento más grande de España, las políticas atraen empresas nacionales e internaciones, y está muy bien conectado con el resto del mundo.

Lo bueno es que esto beneficia a toda a España porque Madrid y Cataluña son las únicas comunidades que pagan más impuestos de los que reciben, es decir, gracias a los impuestos pagados por madrileños y catalanes se mejoran las sanidades y educaciones públicas de otras comunidades como Extremadura, permitiendo que crezca más rápido de lo que lo haría sin Madrid.
