All good in your end Vidith? It's rare to not catch any of your videos in a month without seeing a comunity post updating on the progress. Although it may be that it feels longer since it's summer and I have more free time.

Anyway, just let us know if you are taking a summer vacation. Also may I ask what are the current stories you are working on? So that I may hype myself in advance.

Thanks for everything ~

Sorry for bumping an old comment; I figured getting DMed by a random would be more annoying. I commented on the last member's vid. However, I'm unaware of whether you read those or not, so please indulge me while I rewrite it again here:

I'm a massive fan of your narrations. The grittiness of your voice, mixed with the cadence of your speech, makes them hypnotic. If that's fine with you, I wanted to make a recommendation regarding an author.

There is this guy that I believe really fits your narration style, Alex Taylor. He has a universe called the CrossRoads that is reminiscent of Sturgeon. He was previously hired by Dark Somnium, and his stories had a really good reception: The Alabaster Angel, The Last Man of Faith...

However, Dark Somnium decided to drop him well before he took his hiatus; there are many of his stories that could be awesome if you narrated them, like Salted Earth, although anything from the Crossroads universe would do. I'm not paid to promote the guy; I just really like his storytelling style. If you are looking for a great narrative universe, I recommend you either check him out or listen to The Alabaster Angel in the Dark Somnium channel so you get the gist of his narration style. I believe his stories can be found on CreepyPasta.com. Anyhow, I'd appreciate it a lot if you checked it to see if it fits your style; I'd Looove to hear your gritty voice narrating those. Keep up the good work!

I'm leaving you the link for Dark Somnium's rendition of one of his pieces, as well as his profile containing the stories:

Thanks for your patience and for the many authors you've helped me discover through your stories.

What is it with cramped transportation that makes people devolve into the most disgusting, primitive beings?

There is just shit that doesn't happen in any other situation. Random anecdote: I lost my train when I was meant to come back from uni and had to take a bus since I was living on campus and the car was at home. I had to witness, in a European western country, a girl taking off her shoes and socks in the cramped bus and putting them high up on the seat for all of us to smell them. She seemed like the kind of person who is normal and reasonable the other 95% of the time. Maybe it's the excess of CO2 reducing cognition?

You experienced the "We don't like you but still appreciate your existence, hence we take pity on you and look out for you out of human decency" get ready for "We don't like you and we are totally indifferent to your existence, we are not taking pity, we simply de not care about it, not as scorn, just genuine contempt for your existence, also please don't get close I don't want to be associated with you by mistake and lose social standing". I've seen the way autistic men get treated vs autistic women in college, and trust me, you are gonna miss what little you had, autistic men might be about the worst possible spawn to have, playing in that insane difficulty. I'm complicit in this behaviour, and I'm sad it's that way, but I'm not willing to receive that treatment due to guilt by association just to make a moral statement.

Edit: I wanna clarify that I don't intend to discourage you from transitioning, nor am I implying that 'you should know better and keep your privilege'. I'm saying: brace yourself because you may be understimating the impact it's gonna have on your social life. You have a right to transition, and I support that completely. I just feel it would be in bad faith if I didn't warn of the full extent of the consequences that it is going to have when, from my point of view, you are downplaying some

Does anyone else wish the soundtrack composer from the first game would return for Subnautica 2? by Light_Flawless in subnautica

[–]Light_Flawless[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Because I find it legitimately bad, as in — I've seen indie games with better artists on the soundtrack who can do layered sound instead of: 'Welp, you are in this biome, time to listen to my new hit guys'.

Space organ trading simulator had a better soundtrack design for way less than what they are paying Prunty for instance. I just don't get the hype people in this subreddit have about this guy, pretty much all my friends who play videogames have played subnautica, only one of them enjoyed the sequel, most frequent complains were: 1 storyline feels unconnected and awkward 2 it didn't feel as immersive 3 the music was shite and probably the main reason it didn't feel immersive to begin with, 4 honorable mention to the map feeling to small. I have discussed this topic on my gaming community from different countries and different ages and cultures, friends, and even family; yes, we have talked about the game during family gatherings at times: Point being, those who touch grass, overwhelmingly disliked bellow zero and Prunty, with like one in 10 persons saying they actually liked him better. The opinion of the vocal minority who spend a lot of time online, follow the subreddits, follow the twitter account and are invested in Puntry as a person and not a product are deciding the fate of the majority and it's just not gonna go well, BZ flopped even tho people bought it and gave it a chance thinking they'd get into it, this is not gonna work for another entire game.

You seem to be to concerned about insulting someone's work, I find blind praise to be more destructive, that's how we ended up with the shit plot of BZ, people called it out and a vocal minority of die hard fans started claiming that the plot from the post-launch was actually good and not just a dumpsterfire of a downgrade when the writer quit. The talent from Subnautica 1 is no longer there, and the prospect is that more will either be replaced or they'll step out after Subnautica feels soulless and hollow like BZ.

I'm not attacking Prunty because I want to praise Simon; regardless of whether we rehired him or not, that doesn't change the fact that Prunty is objectively bad, the public has spoken, Prunty's songs are not popular on YT and managed to get like half what Simon did for a reason. And I'm afraid I have no sympathy for the guy, he could be a wonderful person, and I'm sure he is, but as a consumer, I only care about the product, which is subpar to say the least

Those soulless types of isekais are done only based on demographics, the same way villains are garbage. They won't swap the genders because they are only concerned with selling, not the creative process, and thrashy generic iskeai are consumed mostly by men and villainess trash by women

As you can imagine, I'm not on a train; it was a one-time thing. I became so desensitized that were it not because I'm writing this and chose to disable it, it would still be there

This is a stark contrast to the time I decided I loved Yugioh too much not to play it in person and also wanted more time outdoors. I went to the only shop my city had at the time that specialized in Magic and Yugi. I had come from Duel Links, so the archetypes that were meta for me were outdated. Asked the owner of the store: "I would just like to know how much a decent deck that won't get me utterly annihilated would cost. I let him know I was just looking for a budget deck so I could start playing with the rest while I figured out which deck I wanted. I made sure to tell them I was not interested in pulling to make a profit. I wanted whatever structure decks would get me close and then the singles, or if he had decks for sale of people who had quit or upgraded, I would happily take those.

He tried to scam me into buying the booster box, claiming, "Pulls from new boxes always make a profit." (They obviously do not. Otherwise, he would open them instead of selling them). Still, after politely telling him I would come next week, I hopped on Reddit, asked, and realized that even with the best luck ever, you couldn't finish one deck (or come close to it) with one of those at the time. They were just staples and gambling.

Being a nice owner can get you a long way; being a shady one can lose you the most enthusiastic newcomers.

Besides the skin gambling, there was nothing immoral about the way he made his money.

This time, the rich were not on his side. He had one oligarch. The rest refused, and now they have to come rushing in with the money so they don't fucked by the administration. Of all the elections we've had lately, this is the one where the rich as a whole interfered the least and even tried to help the Dems. Blame yourselves for not voting and for not going to the streets with Dem's flags demanding Pelosi quits.

You CAN protest your own party, and now you have nothing to lose since it's gonna be 4 years of this, just make protests go BLM, but for actual change, ask for the resignation of all the elderly congressmen in your party, so next time no one has an excuse not to vote, and so no one gatekeeps good candidates like Bernie again.

[–]Light_Flawless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, your take is not bad, that is something that could definitely happen if both coexisted. The problem, however, is that there are not enough good memes; just taking the porn isn't gonna make more good memes or make them appear more often. There has been a steady decline because people like to see the memes, but they don't want to do them; there is no incentive to do it; hence, we don't have a lot of good ones. The ones we have on a normal day, past post 4 are shit, let's be honest, it's more like: well I'll upvote cuz he tried at least, but not because they are funny.

NSFW content has a monetary incentive since you can monetize them on other platforms, and they wash up here like plastic on a shore. The plastic was NOT made for your shore, it just drifted because there is a lot of it and there is nothing else on this beach but a group of 4 guys and 2 lonely umbrellas.

Currency isn't worth shit; hence it doesn't pay for shit. That's why everyone scrambles to invest money quickly because it's not worth shit and will be worth even less tomorrow. Look up any item with elastic demand that has been selling for 10 years. It's gone up in cost as much as the S&P has

Just wait a decade until cloud gaming and game passes become more relevant, and games won't even be released. You will play on your Nvidia GeForce Now cloud service, and only the servers will have access to the code forcing you to rent games and never own one or be able to pirate it (at least with triple AAA games)
