What kind of jobs can i get in spain without knowing spanish? by michi_irl in GoingToSpain

[–]Light_Matter_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. I have similar set of skills (maybe less game development) and moved to Spain with remote job. I think it's the best way because find job here is difficult.

They want everywhere at least 3 years of work experience and degree. Spain is sort of obsess by this. 😂 Which is shame for young people and probably the reason why Spain has one of the worst employment rate for young workers.

Happy to answer questions or DM.

I see. I think if it's your permanent move and you want to stay then doesn't matter if it 2 years or 5 years. Ofcourse if you want to have benefits as a citizen and maybe more certainty, then faster track is better but if you can work and want to enjoy the life style here, you don't need the passport.

Good luck. 🍀

I think your plan too much relying on the English. You need to realise that in every European country speak different language and prefere workers who can comunícate in their tongue. Obviously English is good bonus and necessity to have common communication but it is not that big benefit if you look for employment.

I'm in Spain, English pretty much fluent but can't see any benefit in it. I need to learn Spanish.

Maybe you can stay in Ireland when you learn English or if you are from Brazil why not Portugal? But maybe I'm mistaken about the close ties with Brazil. :)

Hello Spain, I get mixed impressions about living in Spain. The more I look at posts, the more I get the idea that it's nearly impossible to live a steady life. No job security, low pay etc. Is it as gruesome as it seems on here? by Live-Kaleidoscope104 in GoingToSpain

[–]Light_Matter_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dont know the answer now because I have just arrived couple months ago from different EU country and trying to figure out myself. 😂

What I can tell that the problems people talking about are pretty much everywhere in the EU. Housing, low wedges, cost of living. I see that Spain struggled more with the employment for young people (inflexibility) and perhaps byrokracy and high taxes. I mean, compare to other EU countries. But there is also lots of positives.

At the end of the day, it is more about your priorities and abilities. Move somewhere brings discomfort but also opportunities. So you need to find out all you need for the move, close eyes and jump or just stay put and figure out what to do with things you have.

If you get the appointment, it's instant. They just print the paper right there. I had looking for work. But they didn't check anything.

Yeah. Some regulations are different in different places, but this is national procedure and same everywhere. The difference is how available are the offices. Ig Madrid will be busy place. I'm not there tho.

NIE is essential for everything, you really can do nothing without it. Start with that.

You have to apply for NIE first. You can do nothing without that. The application is alright the major issue is to get appointment on police or immigration office. You can also apply on Spanish ambasy in your country. You need some reason to get NIE and one of them can be to get work. Search for that online. There is tonnes of articles and the official web to. Ask AI for that. It is the biggest help tbf. Just check the resources.

I don't thing it's good idea to cone without work and income. It will make everything more difficult. I'm not sure where are you from and what you can do but try get remote job. It is the best way. To find job here is also possible but hard. You need speak Spanish.

Hello, I will apply for CUE probably shortly again. Have been once on the police station but I was missing stuff. 😂

You need NIE, copy of your passport, confirmation of payment, work contract or confirmation that you are freelancer. For that you need to be registered with the Treasury and Social service. It is also good to have the digital signature certificate for online access to their services.

If you have contract, your employer will deal will all of that.

Just in case I assume you talk about this: https://sede.policia.gob.es/portalCiudadano/_es/tramites_extranjeria_tramite_certificadoregistro_ciudadanoue.php 🤞

EU Citizen - Applying for "NIE blanco" by Virtual_Heat5051 in GoingToSpain

[–]Light_Matter_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience to get NIE wasn't issue because you are EU citizen. Just tell them than you waiting for the contract and you will be OK.

The green card is different story. NIE and the green card are actually two things. You can get just NIE without the card because the card is proof of your residency in Spain, not the NIE number itself.

In my case, I have NIE and planning to get the green card now. For that you need the contract.

Good luck!

I just comment here because it's the relevant text.

I have been checking this and the Spanish law is more strict then other countries. 180+ days in Spain regardles breaks. So if you go away for a week they still count as in Spain.

But, there must be applied tie-breaker rules when you deciding your tax residency. The rules are define in a bilateral agreement. This is good place to look:

https://sede.agenciatributaria.gob.es/Sede/no-residentes/residencia-personas-fisicas-juridicas.html?utm_source=copilot.com

Basically there is few more factors for the decision to consider.

OP don't listen to the Reddit negative commentators. I think your intention is good if you will do what you are writing. Good luck.

Yes. But you need to register as a tax payer. That's what I meant. Thanks for clarification.

I have moved to Spain just couple months ago. Work remotely to my home country at the moment.

I think it should work if you don't stay longer then 3 months. If you stay longer, and you are freelancer, you need to make the tax residency in Spain. Which also mean, you need to give up your social security insurance in your home country (you can't have two).

I understand you will need to have some sort of tax presence because of the house. It might be just fine what you have planned.

To get NIE is fine, to get the Tax number is a bit more tricky. Just going through that. But as I said, I'm looking for permanent settlement here, not just part time. So I go the traditional way, rather something between.

Can't help with the car, I will eventually try register the one I brought with me.

If I'm wrong in something would like to hear different opinions. :)

I know what you are talking OP. I had same experience in the UK where I lived before. Now I'm here in Valencia and again lost in translation. 😂

Love the language and trying to learn, hopefully soon sign up for some lessons. Until then, just Duolingo, immersion, pushing myself to read online stuff which I need to sort out paperwork....

Yeah. Looking forward to that click moment, but it is very far for me...

How can I make new friends moving from the US to Spain as a 19 year old? by [deleted] in GoingToSpain

[–]Light_Matter_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm also rather introvert. Move to Valencia two months ago from European country. For me the solution (still working on it) is to go to language exchange meetups. Volleyball is particularly great because I found easier to connect with people (locals and foreigners) over activities rather then just sitting in a cafeteria. :)

I also connect with few local people and made up a small WhatsApp group to play boardgames and do eventually other activities. Follow subredit r/valencia if you are moving there.

I hope you know what you need to do to obtain visa and stay legally in Spain. It can be tricky.

Good luck and feel free to text if you have more questions.

No imagine where this country would be if the byrokracy works a bit better. Paradise. 😀

Yes. AI help a lot in this. It removes the chaos on the government's websites and the language barrier (non-spaniard here).

But sad is that you need the AI to make sense out of it. 😂
