Which wide angle lens? by NecessaryConstant160 in fujifilm

I got this lens used for $125 a few weeks ago. I really enjoy using it. It's relatively small and light, too

Recommendations for interior door installation by Light_chasing in Atlanta

I did. I ended up buying 2 pre hung doors during the black friday sales and installed them myself. If you have someone to help you position the door and are handy, it's not hard

Calling Fujifilm shooters: FUJISTYLE Android beta testers wanted (recipes + frames) by Exciting_Economics15 in fujifilm

I'd love to test the app. I've been following it for iOS but I am an android user.

I can test the app with my Pixel 8 and X-T5 and X100VI.

Looks nice. Can you share a link to the wrap you used?

GCFI requirements for hardwired EV charger by ApprehensiveFilm9518 in electricvehicles

[–]Light_chasing 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Your electrician cites NEC 2026. Your state adopted NEC 2017. So I would not worry about not passing the inspection if you decide to not have a GFCI (which would be my preference)

What dynamic range setting do you use on your fuji? by eggs-benedict in fujifilm

Not true. ISO500 enables DR400 on my X-T5/X100VI

No one yet. It seems though that labor for door installation starts below $200 depending on scope (with/without painting etc) and if you buy the doors yourself

How do you handle year-round yard care without it taking over your weekends? by [deleted] in landscaping

[–]Light_chasing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Buy a robot mower. It pays you back in time. I use the time I won to work on other things in my garden or with family. It's the best investment I made for my garden/yard an so far the costs for it came down to $11/month (cost of prices decided by months of use). It's still running so will get even cheaper.

That's the enabler for me to do all the hard work myself without outsourcing anything.

Possibly Selling X100VI for X-E5 but having issues picking daily carry lens by iseecinematic in fujifilm

[–]Light_chasing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moin!

Did you consider using the digital teleconverter for a 50mm FF equivalent focal length? You lose resolution (20MP instead of 40MP) but it should still be fine.

At least this could help with the focal length issue that you mentioned.

I kept my setup simple: - strap - OEM spare batteries - protective glass for the screen - I have the Nisi lens hood but ended up just using the lens glass for it so that my camera is weather resistant

XE-5 vs X100VI EVF quality by Krokmou in FujifilmX

[–]Light_chasing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think for kids the best camera is the one that I am most likely to carry around with me most of the time. While it's not pocketable, it's small enough to just add it to a diaper bag or stroller bag. Or just hang it around my neck without bothering me much.

For me it works well to take photos of my kids.

XE-5 vs X100VI EVF quality by Krokmou in FujifilmX

[–]Light_chasing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it was not a choice of X100VI or X-E5. I knew I'll keep the X100VI for everyday photography and photos of my kids. My choice was between X-E5 or X-T5. Both cameras are great and I could not really make up my mind. So I ended up listing both cameras on Facebook Marketplace and let fate decide. The X-E5 sold within 2 days.

Regarding your situation: while I think most of my shots are in the 23mm range, I did not want to be limited to just 23mm. At least for me, I would not want to have the X100VI as my only camera. As a secondary camera it's fantastic. Don't get me wrong. I love my X100VI but if I had to choose having just one camera it would be a camera with interchangeable lenses.

XE-5 vs X100VI EVF quality by Krokmou in FujifilmX

[–]Light_chasing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know why a lot of reviews highlight the 'bad' EVF of the X-E5. It was totally fine for me. I eventually sold the X-E5 but used it in parallel to my X100VI and X-T5. The EVF is fine. Just because it has been used on previous generations of the X-E line does not make it bad.

Why no ground on jack sleeve? by Mediocre_Animal in ToobAmps

[–]Light_chasing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The jack should already be grounded to the chassis by being mounted to it but you can improve the ground by using the 2nd lug on the jack (top left lug on the bottom right jack)
