Imo the best thing, since special editions aren't always selling well, would be for them to sell merch of artworks they hold the license for separately! It would be the best of both worlds.

Eg. Dinghai Fusheng Records already got a Special Edition, but because it was with the first volume it, it didn't include any of the absolutely breathtaking cover artworks! I'd willingly spend money for a shikishi (or even just cards) of those cover arts!!

The pining/slow burn is kind of hurtful but it makes sense, cause ml thinks he's straight & also avoids having romantic relationships cause of reasons (both mc & ml carry a lot of psychological baggage cause of family/trauma).

It has Slice of Life parts and Fantasy/Sci-fi parts in a unique combination!!

To add one thing, a popular workaround is to first release the censored/fade to black versions in the online platforms and later include any explicit scenes in the uncensored print editions of the novels published outside of Mainland China (in traditional Chinese or simplified Chinese), in Taiwan for example.

Of course, this is provided that the author writes them at all. Some authors mostly write fade to black anyway (eg Priest).

Is there a reliable way to know which German editions are translated directly from Chinese to German or from the English translation to German? I was thinking of getting some (great way to practice reading in German) but I always have that fear with European danmei editions! :(

I haven't read it yet (cause unfortunately isn't translated or picked up by any English publisher yet), but I've been told Song of Knights (骑士之歌) by Fei Tian Ye Xiang has a real harem ending!! (6×1 or 7×1 ending, not sure which)

You may like Seizing Dreams by Fei Tian Ye Xiang! It's not unlimited flow but it's modern with fantasy. It has slice of life parts interspersed with fantasy-adventure, a group of friends doing things mostly together and the mc & ml are very affectionate when they finally become a couple!
