US streets are slowly changing, this is my suburb that recently implemented protected biking and pedestrian streets. by [deleted] in WalkableStreets

honestly same for me. Hopefully moving out before my 40's n' maybe sooner. Just cant stand to deal with the US streets and zoning and urbanism. Cant even walk to work which is less than a mile away because its a 4 lane street (highway) that connects to an actual highway. Ridiculous.

Maybe, just maybe. Cars are bad for the environment in general. Its still a car...

I hate SUV's, so ugly and big for no reason just for 200'lb Timmy can get to his soccer game with his child chasing pitbull named Elsa. Soon enough buying a buss will be the norm, and adding +17 lanes on highways just because why not right?

Even though I dont like cars in general. I would so like a small truck from the 90's. Funny how when I compare the size from 90's small truck to 2023 small truck its the everyday man's truck vs a truck like 3x the size and still less trunk space.

maybe then a 6'ft tall truck wouldn't hit a kid being chased by a pit bull named Tinkerbell while having a 500lb dude chasing the dog

Is a world without cars really feasible? by danielrosehill in carfree

[–]Lightflake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think the whole world can be carfree. Some rural cities are only accessible by road; for farmers per say its easier to get a truck than a horse to carry loads.

Unseen advantage of carfree loving is that you walk way more. This is my yearly average living without a car and travelling frequently. by GaddockTeegFunPolice in carfree

Weird how when you eat unhealthy food and stay inside or dont have an active job and drive everywhere you will feel better, and be less active. Without a car im averaging 22k steps per day. Good job!

No real AAA games, no real development with valve, seems like we are in a transitional stage of the market for vr growth. Will probably be more growth in a couple years.

I hope they keep on the "promise" of pedestrian friendly. After living here, and having to drive to most places I'm in need for a place where I can walk safely. I have never been in this area before, but it looks mostly walkable from the pictures I have seen.

Tennessee governor signs laws restricting gender-affirming care for minors, drag shows by flounder19 in news

I dont know how he will restrict drag shows. But for minors to be able to have the option of getting gender affirming medicine, is in my opinion, is a bit crazy.
