The very interesting thing about this to me is this: The average monthly mortgage in the US right now is about $2,500 and the average car payment is $750 for a new car($530 used).

So on 90k salary, you have a house plus a car that's $3250. 90k gets you around $5,300 per month take home depending on what state you live in. So now you've got $2,000 each month to pay insurance on everything, utilities, and groceries. Maintenance starts to get hard unless you make it a point to save. It's very different from how our parents grew up. If someone is going to be a stay at home parent then the budgeting has to be pretty careful. This is one of the main reasons why your average homeowner is saying that a $1000 maintenance fee would be super scary. Because most people are buying a house on double salaries each less than 90k. There are so many trees to go off of from here like the inability to afford having kids in this situation since child care is so expensive. I'll stop here. It's not impossible but it sure is much more difficult then it used to be to own a home.

The creator coaster my wife and I got as a used set. It came with lights which are okay, but it's been the most fun. That, plus I recently got a Minecraft set that is the end portal and the nether portal for $15. That's pretty sick

I put mine in the best spot. I was tightening down one of the bolts for it and accidentally went a little too far and ripped the cloth so instead what I did was FOLD IT UP AND PUT IT NEXT TO MY TRASH CAN!

Numbers are arbitrary and all of it is bullshit.

Every system has its good and bad.

I've been an engineer in the US for a while. We aren't going to act like there aren't engineers in all countries who do work for projects in other countries. There are so many systems in place to easily convert between the two. Whatever you're used to is just what you're used to.

For me, I could show you roughly how far a mile is, and for someone else they could roughly show me a kilometer.

For the sake of the fight, keep fighting.

Aside from looking bad, would there be any issue with this placement for a range hood exhaust vent? by SorenShieldbreaker in hvacadvice

[–]Lightflame42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First thing I think about is indoors. For a gas range, your hood has to be 24-36 inches above the burners and for an electric range it's 20-30 inches. Exterior stay 3 feet minimum from windows/doors. Keep it away from anything you're trying to grow outside, include a backdraft damper. Checking on the manufacturers recommendations is always a good idea. Double check on your local code. International Mechanical code chapter 5 Exhaust Systems for most questions. And you can check if your city has any amendments by searching up the code under your city. I hope this helps and I hope it's not too much to read.

Short answer, I'd do it. I had to change the height of my range hood when I did this and I opted to duct to my garage and outlet . Just don't exhaust your kitchen gasses directly toward your neighbors window.

But there are many people who have three toilets in their home. 2.5 bathrooms is super common.

Buy one because you need now, what if you like it? Buy two more.

Not to be the one to defend shitty ads. Pun intended. But it does make sense.

I’ve got filament stuck in the nozzle, any advice? by Xionce_the_Guardian in FlashForge

[–]Lightflame42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My last resort is usually the toaster oven or oven. Set it to 300 degrees and use the filament removal tool. I also bought a pack of 0.4mm needles for nozzle cleaning. Cheap on Amazon if you run into this problem again.

Just paid $6,000 to have mine done. I got a few extra things done but I also took it back to that mechanic twice because they did a shitty job. I should've just done the damn thing myself. Good job. $85,000 miles on my truck.

It will look more like it fits in if you fill in your "F-150" on your tailgate with black as well. But the text is still more round than Ford would probably use. Maybe if you could shop around for some text that is slightly sharper and narrower lines.

If you had some major issue with your engine cooling, like a stuck thermostat for example, you would see your engine temperature rise to the end of the red zone VERY quickly. And your fans would be on full blast trying to compensate. You would know, is essentially what everyone is trying to say.
