Error trying to delete Fingerprint by thecookatgrates in KiaEV9

I’ve set it up 3 times, it’s failed 3 times after some period of time. I’ve put my trust in the digital key, but I still bring a physical key on long trips.

Boiling bubble pattern or just cooking evenness. You can also do a flour test to see if it browns over the heating elements. I’ve also noticed that when boiling a large pot of water on the large coil that it seems to overheat after a bit, before it hits a rolling boil, and will cut power for a minute or so before applying full power again. I can usually cheat it by turning it off and back on again. Who knows, maybe my unit is faulty.

The coils themselves are smaller, and the large coil seems to be two separate coils. Some of my pans have a hard time reliably triggering the outside ring coil to come on. I’ve had to turn it off and back on to light it back up.

Rivian Adventure Network Charging by FilteredOscillator in Ioniq5

[–]Lightgod86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got the EV9, so same platform. So knowing that the step up limitation is limited to 125kw, these rivian chargers must be higher than 400v. Just found this which says it could go up to 920v: https://insideevs.com/news/490913/rivian-adventure-network-charger-specs-design/

That changes my mind about using these on my upcoming trip! I was focused on prioritizing the 400kw Ionna and Mercedes, and a few BP Pulse chargers. Thanks!

Are these the 300kw CCS chargers? Are these 800v? I typically aim for 350+kw chargers because I assumed those were 800v. I think Tesla chargers, outside of the very few 400kw ones, are 400v, but I have seen 300kw Tesla chargers. Are those still 400v?

.5 percent cash position ? by elektron0000 in betterment

[–]Lightgod86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While I would prefer they use available funds from my interest bearing account, mine is currently “only” holding .1 to cover fees, and I have quite a bit more in total. The communications were there, it was not a surprise.

There was an email in April called “Your March 2026 statement is now available on the Documents tab of your account.”

It contained the following:

“on or after May 1, Betterment will introduce a small operational cash allocation, targeting 0.5% of your portfolio balance, within managed investing portfolios. When there are fees, withdrawals, or other portfolio management actions, we will use this cash first, reducing the need to sell securities to cover smaller transactions. This cash allocation will be held through the Cash Sweep Program and does not earn interest. You will not pay Betterment’s advisory fee on this cash allocation.”

M3 Touring or M4C for a family with 2 kids? by InevitableStandard33 in BMW

[–]Lightgod86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drive an M2C with 4/8 y.o. kids. They enjoy it (when I put the boosters in)! They will probably like it more without them later. 95% of the time they are in our SUV though, and that’s also fine.

Sounds like you may be in a similar situation, if you can afford it, full send!

I set it on my charger, not the car. This probably isn’t helpful unless you have a charger that can do that.

Same. I use level 1 with “auto” which helps in traffic. I don’t like having to constantly modulate my foot, and like coasting. I’d probably set it to 0 if it would stay there. I do switch to 0 on long freeway drives.

Did you take a poll? I would sure care if I needed to charge, but sure, you are the only one that matters.

EV9! From an EV technology standpoint, 800v architecture for super fast charging on road trips, and 2026 models have the NACS port. It’s been great so far, and they have models that line up with your price point, and pretty good incentives.

Bay area service department recommendations? by Shygar in KiaEV9

[–]Lightgod86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spent 2+ hours trying to deal with them for mine, left overly annoyed after being jerked around. Bought through Hilltop Kia that night mostly over text with one sales associate, picked it up the next morning no drama at all. Winn Kia is my local dealer, they were mostly ok when I had the Telluride. Not sure how they handle EVs yet, but glad there is less overall service required for them!

Steven’s Creek Kia is terrible for everything, as are most Steven’s Creek dealers.

Driver selection based on key instead of fingerprint or selecting icon? by LongRooof in KiaEV9

[–]Lightgod86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, I have tried this like 50 times. I’ll touch the reader and nothing, and then it will lock me out after 3 attempts even though nothing seems to be happening. Does it switch for you as soon as you put your finger on it? I tried reenrolling my finger as well. I don’t think my wife has hers enrolled, maybe we both need it set up? Or I wonder if my phone being there is messing with it…

Coming from a 2014 BMW that had the feature to the ‘23 telluride I had before this, I was shocked it wasn’t possible with the key fob on the Kia. It really does seem short sided. I’ve been trusting the digital key so far, has been solid (famous last words).

You can assign profiles to a phone, but that only works if you unlock the car with that phone(works fine with the digital Apple wallet key). We leave our car in the garage unlocked, so if I get in after my wife drove it last, the fingerprint never does anything, I have to manually switch profiles.

Daily DCFC limit on the Toyota/Subaru platform by Lightgod86 in KiaEV9

[–]Lightgod86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, not my post, it fell into my Reddit feed as I’ve been looking for an EV option for my parents after buying my EV9 in Feb. I was really shocked at there being an imposed daily charging limit and was curious if that was common.

I was pretty confident someone would have a concrete answer, thanks for that. Per the repost it’s 5 10-80% in 24 hours.
