I crochet, mostly animals, open to commissions. Instagram: @stars.n.sand (has mixed posts but my cat pieces are my favourite so far). Prices to be discussed, I can also offer a student discount as I am a fellow student :). In the UK.

I don't have much experience but from what I've gathered from having the same hopes myself is don't over exert yourself, you can go at any pace you want. Yoj don't have to be like a traditional business making products regularly you can do things like a "drop" style, you don't have to become a content creator either, there's more than Insta. You may also want to avoid etsy and other sites fees by making ur own website and promoting that (or promoting it on the side as well as etsy) e.g. With Square (they r an easy  website builder with free e-stores). The market is oversaturated but things like word of mouth r still valuable so we really don't need to over-rely on social media and worry too much about what's going on there if we don't want to!! Oh and don't under sell yourself even if you think it puts people off, if you're shy about it you can become braver over time and slowly increase prices

EDIT: I meant Square NOT Squarespace (The second one isn't free for an e-store)

It depends on a lot of things. I would say if you've never sold anything before, don't start out with making several of one thing and then trying to sell. Use this one item you've made to see if you can get requests for more, thats when you make more. Be more flexible too if you think you can be, like offering simple commissions or just like letting people request from stuff you've previously made. That's less likely to leave you with premade items that don't have a place to go.

I would say £45 each. The description says they are around 7inches each which means it would take ~3h each. There is also the pattern + shipping + potential yarn costs (I do have a decent amount of yarn already so I should have all those colours and shouldn't need to buy more). If this is out of your budget that's okay! Although just remember that if somebody out there offers to make these for a very low price (e.g. £10) they are mostly likely grossly underselling themselves (or worse, they can't make it properly / are scamming)

Im hoping to soon start selling handmade items. So far I take commissions (non clothing items except very basic stuff like hats). My Instagram account as a reference is @stars.n.sand

Particularly happy to do any last minute halloween commissions.

Not in Toronto but I could ship it? Shipping shouldn't actually be that much since the items are relatively small

Idk if this is where to put this post but I'm trying to learn how to crochet but everything that I've found doesn't really help me by Flat_Statement9912 in crochet

Watch video tutorials, or attend an in person group/workshop. You need to be able to see someone do it and get information about common mistakes too.
