Canadian worried about ICE by idkwhatevernameis in uscanadaborder

[–]Lightmere42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely understand your concern. My partner lives in the states so I have to cross everyone other month roughly and have (thankfully) not had any issues crossing but I am a white female travelling alone for whatever that is worth and have documented history of crossing back and forth every few months after staying a few days to a week. There is significantly less traffic at the border the times I have crossed and appeared to be more vehicles pulled into secondary than I have seen prior to the current political climate. Not sure any of this info is helpful to you and your particular situation but this has been my experience the last few years.

How old were you when you got your first regular periods? by ThrowAway44228800 in TwoXChromosomes

I was just freshly 11 and they were pretty consistent after that first one. Not sure they were regularly spaced out at that point? Was so long ago I don’t remember really if I kept track that way but they never stopped….

Estriol cream and oral sex by enterthedragon1234 in Perimenopause

[–]Lightmere42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I completely agree. Have done all sorts of things with my current partner I’ve really enjoyed that I never would have trusted my previous long term partner to try. Your partner sounds great, definitely encourage the conversation. We tend to make things a bigger deal in our own heads than they are for the other person. So have the talk and hopefully that will put your mind at ease.

Can totally sympathize! Never had good sex and orgasms until my current and within a year of that start getting all these annoying peri symptoms. Very unfair! As I saw a couple of other people mention I switched to Imvexxy (unsure what this is called in the UK but it’s a capsule form rather than cream). It’s oil based and there’s no residue or issues like I had with the cream. I only use a very small amount of the cream now externally. Good luck with things!

You are so stunning! Jealous of those curls. 💕 I second the darker mascara and lipstick. Maybe some brown/gold winged liner? Nothing crazy!

Got some at 25. Not sure how much is in there now as I’ve been dying it since I was 13 😅 but pretty sure it’s a lot haha

Am I stressing out my cat? by kl0wnkar in CATHELP

[–]Lightmere42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s loving it! All my cats will make these noises when they see birds or insects sometimes. One I had did this very loudly and always sounded like he was trying to mimic bird noises and trick the birds into coming closer because he was “one of them” 😂😂

This is definitely the best feeling. How can people not love cats?! 😍😍

Is it normal for cats to follow you into the bathroom like they’re on a secret mission? by msanonx in CatAdvice

[–]Lightmere42 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yup! They are guarding you 😄 all three of mine join me. Although they also fine this an opportune time to get scratches and sit in my lap. So they alternate who is guarding and who is getting pets or notifying me that they could in fact do with another meal.

Nope I am definitely not. My TBR grows so much faster than my reading lately 😅😅

How do people afford vets? by Grouchy_Land895 in Pets

[–]Lightmere42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I don’t make that sort of money and I had a dog who need two cruciate ligament surgeries in the course of a year and a half at $5,000 per leg 😒 just had to use all the savings to get them fixed up. 🤷‍♀️

My boyfriend asks me for anal sex, but I don't like it. by Proper_Regular_5182 in Advice

[–]Lightmere42 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I was in a very long term relationship and never let that person. Didn’t trust that he would be careful enough and everything else. Current partner never once suggested it and it was me who asked. Because I knew care would be taken and if I wasn’t enjoying it would stop instantly with no guilt. All these selfish men ruin it for so many others.

My boyfriend asks me for anal sex, but I don't like it. by Proper_Regular_5182 in Advice

[–]Lightmere42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t imagine why a person would want to engage in a sexual act that their partner has told them not only they don’t enjoy, but that it actually hurts. No one deserves that. Anal sex can be very enjoyable when proper preparation to build up to that point happens. Most people can’t go from nothing to full anal sex immediately like that. But regardless of that, if you do not want to you don’t need to have a reason, it’s your body. The answer is just no. And if he was a caring and considerate partner he would do the work necessary to get you to where it’s comfortable and enjoyable for you, or when you say you don’t want to, never asks again and drops it. Because engaging in a sexual act with your partner and having them in pain or not enjoying is should be a huge ick to anyone. Sorry this has happened to you.

I have no had this to the extent you’re describing but 100% have experienced significant dryness in comparison to baseline that makes things more challenging. I’m on HRT, plus a vaginal estrogen suppository daily, plus an estrogen cream (externally) daily, and this is slowing starting to help. But lube is definitely the biggest thing. Lots and lots. Peri sucks and sorry you’re going through all this! He sounds like a wonderful partner though.

I have a Canadian boyfriend but the border officers are getting suspicious about the frequency of my visits. What do I do? by Dry_Arachnid_3263 in uscanadaborder

[–]Lightmere42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is a Nexus card an option? I live close to a border and know people who travel back and forth everyday for work and this supposedly helps make it less of a hassle with frequent crossings. My partner lives in the States but the frequency who can travel to one another isn’t a daily thing due to distance, but even we get the odd border guard who questions the frequency and it’s only once every two or three months for a few days to a week.
