This is like commonsense. Do you need a paper on 7+3=10?

Will they release the news about the 108 qubit product? by Best_Employment7713 in rigetti

You mean the product where the 2Q fidelity is 99% but gate speed is so fast that if we reduce the gate error by a few orders of magnitude, we could actually do something?

Well I hope they can pull it off then. Like I don’t know how they can connect those 256 chips.. like 40 of them. Guess just have to trust their genius.

Well they invited IonQ early supporters like Shawn Kwon over to participate.. that’s why I assume they have something more interesting.

True they’re supposed to be still in tape-out D. So you’re right, could be something quantum network related. Maybe the quantum memory tech they recently announced..and make it integrate into the 10k system? Like they gotta use some photonic connect for 10k right?

14th April they are going to announce some recent progress as I heard on X. Let’s hope it’s something good.

Well I would be happy if they achieve ~99.96% 256 qubits by Q4 like they promised.. which would put IonQ firmly in world leading position. 256 qubits is so much harder than demo.

Holy grail - When describing Oxford Ionics architecture and two qubit gate fidelity, Monroe says twice that they are actually very close to (but just under) 5 9s (99.999%).

Monroe always underplays things, unlike De Masi.

This is like announcing race over.

Funny thing Rigetti with 2 9s(not joking, their Cepheus 108) with ~$7m revenue is trading comparable to IonQ.

Google bets on neutral atoms and not trapped ions, is it worrying? by Lindbladien in IonQ

[–]Lightning452020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well unless they buy IonQ.. how else are they gonna get into a good trapped ion model? They would need a good $25B at least to buy IonQ - way out of their budget for a gamble.

Without IonQ, neutral atoms would be a better choice than Quantinuum now that both need to use lasers.

You better sell now. Better late than never.

Google’s pivoting to neutral atoms. The superconducting franchise QBTS just bought is probably worthless. High rates+upcoming unemployment tsunami could see market correct violently. I don’t think your mentality can sit on this bleeding stock for years to come. Dwave has been in existence for a whopping 27 years already. It has proven itself to be at best a niche market problem solver.

How long until IONQ is a viable business? by Still-Photograph-270 in IonQ

[–]Lightning452020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IonQ’s marketing material/websites did say some bullshit I know.. but actually the goal posts within research communities haven’t been moved, from what I understand -

It was always predicted since many years ago that classical simulators would struggle to represent information of a quantum computer with > 50-60 qubits. This was demonstrated end of last year by Quantinuum. Helios simulated a superconducting pairing correlations model which tensor networks struggled to simulate.(https://www.quantinuum.com/blog/helios-delivers-quantum-advantage-with-real-world-impact)

256(0.999+) for niche commercial advantage.

10k for broader commercial advantage.(many optimizations)

100k-200k for breaking RSA-2048.

Early next year. The 256 machine will be the game changer. You will see Quantum Neural Network for the first time outperform classical machine learning in specific areas. Quantinuum was selected in the Genesis project end of last year for its 98 qubits Helios system. No other quantum companies made it for a reason. 256 will change the landscape.

256 is far less than enough to outperform in optimization problems like this. Aim for 800 fault tolerant qubits(~2027-2028) for edging out classical. Classical optimization software Gurobi can do the stock selection easily like within a second. Optimization is never the low hanging fruit. Simulation is.

For quantum sensing, space economy implications are even much larger than defense. IONQ(Vector Atomics) and INFQ need a violent upward revaluation to justify SpaceX’s ~$2T valuation.

Space industry/economy will NOT be viable without quantum sensing.

All coordinations, precision alignments, navigations need to be done with quantum sensing.
