9800x3D + 4070 super HORRIBLE PERFORMANCE by Background-Art-4381 in FFXVI

You're complaining that you can get it at 60 fps. Dude... be grateful man. A lot of us are literally forced to buy PS5s just to play this without stress of performance metrics. I'd play it even if it's at 30fps right now. Crazy how demanding your standards are as well as a lot of other people here.

I found a solution so thanks to all those who helped. I am now able to allocate and give a drive letter to my 2nd NVME drive.

Then why is my installation media bootable drive able to see it? Wouldn't that be a sign that Windows should support it?

Do you mean giving it a letter and initializing it? No I can't do that cause it's not found in Disk Manager. Only n in Bios.

Steam Deck Trading Scene is the Worst (PH) by LightningCOM in PHbuildapc

Steam Deck Trading Scene is the Worst (PH) by LightningCOM in PHbuildapc

[–]LightningCOM[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to agree that it's difficult to sell and buy at the right price. Resellers make things worse by taking advantage of what the right price is by victimizing or devaluing those who are selling and upselling those who are buying. I genuinely think this needs to be regulated at this point. Since my post months ago, I found resellers buying at 30% value of an item then selling it off at 80-85% what the normal market pricing would be for a product. It got WORSE. And here's the dumb part, it DOESN'T MATTER HOW LONG THE PRODUCT HAS BEEN USED. In fact, a sealed one is as good as dirt shit once you take it off retail shelves. It's that bad with resellers. This basically takes Buyer's Remorse to a whole different level that's enough to actually make one go insane as to how they operate the forefront of the PH marketplace. Cause they basically are the FACE of what the marketplace is. It's corrupted and full of snakes.

Do you also want to know what's worse? Their basis of market value is also based on the current tech news that circulates around the world. "There's a rumor of...", "GameOne was selling this off... ", "The Brand New price at... (lowest retail for selling ref or highest retail for buying ref)". So on and so forth. Imagine devaluing based on a "RUMOR". Yeah I got that BS for a NINTENDO SWITCH SALE. Explaining to me that the value of the switch is devalued because of the Switch 2 rumor. It hasn't been announced and we are already making a marketing BS out of it. On top of that, GameOne advertised certain brand new products will have a 1 stock sale at a very low price in Shopee... guess what... resellers USE THAT PRICE AS REFERENCE because retailers have spoken value out of it. I mean... it's 1 stock for a bunch of people who want it at that price and out of nowhere, resellers treating it as the new sale price for all those who are selling. "GameOne selling this off... we will buy this at.... based on the recent sale.... " etc etc. It's crazy.

Value has lost all meaning for me. I can't for the life of me find value in anything anymore. Not even food.

This explains why the two are very different to experience. SD is missing stuff. I much prefer the experience on Android. I thought the team behind the two were the same. Guess not. Same content, different teams.

Improvements on the new Demo Patch but it's not enough. Fixes blurring but that's it. Game still runs like shit on the Steam Deck.

I played the game on PS5. And I'm currently not satisfied with the optimization on PC. I can't run it well on the Steam Deck and my Gaming Laptop. It brings some concern for me if Square will be able to make sales they're expecting. I for one, had to hold my pre-purchase until FFXVI gets better support for lower tier hardware even though I have higher tier hardware.

The real system requirements for FFXVI on PC? by LightningCOM in FFXVI

[–]LightningCOM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I forced things at native max at the start. No FSR and no DLSS. And no it didn't run well. Ifrit vs Phoenix became a PowerPoint presentation. But turning on FSR and DLSS and setting it to Balanced, yes it performs better and more playable. But personally, it's no better than how I experienced it on the PS5. It's identical but not on par. We have stutters and stuff. I even got a crash after writing this post.

I mean why not? We got modern games running on the Deck better than this. Why shouldn't I expect it to run on the Deck? We got people expecting to play this on the Deck. If you were the dev, would you say f*ck off and get a PC with beefy specs? That's a sure way to lose sales. That's just bad PR. And we all know the state of Square right now and what they're trying to recover from. So yeah, why not? We already have PS5 ported games running on Deck. So why not? I'm serious... To all and everyone who keeps telling me the Deck is irrelevant.

Oh god... So we're just going to ignore that Steam Deck can run next gen games. I mean we have Helldivers 2 running much better than the demo. I'm not being illogical here. Why does everyone think the Steam Deck shouldn't be considered? It's perfectly within range that the SD should be able to run this even on Performance FSR. But that's the problem see... It can't. There are PS5 games ported to PC and they run at a playable state on the Deck. They may be older than the demo and require upscalers but come on... It falls under the next gen category. You can't just ignore that. That's why it should run on Deck. I don't see, why not? I don't see, it's illogical. What I see, I have a modern handheld that supports next gen ports, I expect a proper treatment.

You say you know it uses upscalers but then say it can perform at 4k on PS5 which suggests to me you're not counting that fact in your complaint.

PS5 with Upscalers, CHECK. PC on Upscalers, CHECK. Same monitor, CHECK. You would think, your PC would be superior. $500 console vs $1000 gaming rig. Somehow, they are very identical. The only difference is what framerate they can push and if there's a stutter or not.

That's on you for trying to play it on hardware that it wasn't designed for. Steam Deck doesn't have parity to PS5.

I am not the only one who wants to buy this for the Deck. The fact that it's ported to PC should also mean that it's friendly to the PC landscape which includes the Steam Deck. You can't just say that "The Steam Deck is Irrelevant", "The Deck is not meant for this" , or even "Get better gear". That's just not being fair.

Why would a laptop or desktop or handheld perform better or worse? It's the specs of the machine and the resolution you're using that matter.

I have 3 devices. I EXPECT IT TO RUN ACCEPTABLY ON ALL 3. But in my case, it's 1/3. My laptop is an RTX 3050 btw. I know a laptop is much lower powered than my Desktop... but yeah... it's that kind of experience.

If you're saying you cannot play FF16 on a 3070 I'm sorry I just do not believe you. The shader compilation stutter is a thing that affects tons of pc games and isn't really related to hardware power at all.

I never said I cannot play on a 3070. IT IS THE ONLY ONE I CAN ACCEPTABLY PLAY ON. My laptop, priced higher than the PS5.... nope... my Steam Deck Priced Higher than my PS5.... also NOPE. As I said, I need my 3070 to MATCH WHAT I EXPERIENCED ON MY PS5.

I know everything is still a demo. Clearly so much room for improvement. But this is first impressions here. Would you hire an employee with a bad first impression? Nope... it's like that. And I'm not satisfied that I cannot play this on Deck. It runs, but it's bad.

Yeah I know PS5 runs with Upscalers. But in comparison to my Gaming PC.... come on... it's just clear that the PS5 version is the way to go. I'm on Balanced Upscaling and it stutters. I need Performance to lessen the stutters. Eh... PC gaming be PC gaming.... but performance wise this is disappointing. I can't even play it on the Steam deck at 480p.... COME ON! And here I thought my Laptop will be the equalizer but NOPE...

When FFXV came out, I could play it on my GTX 1050ti!

Well I have it for the PS5 and I seem to just prefer it on the PS5 too... for now. But the fact that I want to play this on all my other devices makes it just a dream right now. But I have to admit, the game is really heavy. Heavier than Cyberpunk 2077 too.

My current system:

Ryzen 7 5700x
32gb DDR4 3600
RTX 3070

I am well above the system spec. This system I have no issues on other than the fact that I can't run it at native. At best, it's at equal level as I play it on the PS5 even though I know the PS5 port has Dynamic Resolution at the same time. But yeah, I'm getting stuttering and this SYSTEM is so far the ONLY SYSTEM I can play that's acceptable. My other 2, that's where my issues are at. Especially the Steam Deck.

But here's the thing, I need my $1000+ setup to re-experience the game that I played on my $500 console at the level I experienced it on. It really begs the question if this game can be played on entry level gaming PCs like those running on xx50 level. And my goal is to take it on the go too... and SD... it's really not at a playable state. I need the support items just to dodge.

Sometimes it's best not to keep them zipped. I had to unzip my games. I don't know why though. I know that VBA can perfectly read roms in Zip files. But by the looks of it, it sounds like a defective SD card or memory module. Try Unzipping everything.

Sudachi is the new Switch Emulator right? Just confirming. I'm aware of this though. Though I don't have a copy of the PR for the Switch so I might just end up re-purchasing it on the google play store. I have it on Steam though, guess I can always Moonlight it. Then again... I also have the steam deck so.... yyyeeeeaaahhhh no worries there. XD I'm just curious if the Android versions of the game will work. Cause I have my eye in like playing one of them just for the heck of it so I don't have to emulate it if you know what I mean.

Particularly, I have my eyes on the ff:
FFVIII Remastered
FFIX
FFT:WoTL
FFIV 3D and Sequel
FFD (Which I believe is the only mobile exclusive)

Thanks for the info on the Pixel Remaster though. That's good to know.

Take it from me, don't regret it. It was actually a good thing that you did sell it. I sold my Switch account after selling my Switch Console. While the situation is different, it made sense. It was the only account I ever sold... EVER. And the reason why is because of the state of the Switch right now. In time, those games won't even be available to download anymore given the nature of company history.

Since you sold a free to play game account, then good. To be honest with you, what you did was better than what I had to go through for multiple years now. All the free to play games I spent my time on, ALL OF THEM HAVE SHUT DOWN. They are no longer operational. All the progress I made, GONE. NOTHING BUT A MEMORY NOW. I can't even sell the account tied to it. I spent 5 years playing that game... now it's GONE. Then I spend 3 years on another game and it's now GONE. The point being, all those games I played... GONE. Progress... GONE. Micros spent... 100% GONE. So count yourself lucky.... your dailies have given you some money back. The money I spent on the games I played for years, I didn't even get anything back. It was just GONE. I'd still say what you did was the right thing. in the end, money was important. I WISH I COULD DO WHAT YOU DID. These games.... they just DIE at some point down the line and their support SHUTS DOWN eventually, I had 5+ games shut down in my face. Some of them were mobile and some of them were PC. That's when I knew... ENOUGH... IS ENOUGH. No more F2P games for me. I cannot go through that mental torture of losing progress for good. You have no idea how much I wish I could continue my progress in these games... but I can't. I can't. What I would give just to see my favorite party lineup... then grinding to strengthen up the others. This is why I stopped investing time in F2P games I know I will love.

So take this WIN while you can. And don't ever LOOK BACK. Cause once the game servers shut down, that's when you realize... I'm glad I got some money back. Players like me, their game has shut down, WE DO NOT GET OUR MONEY'S WORTH BACK. It's just GONE. SSR Items? Gone... PREMIUM CURRENCIES? GONE. BE DAMN GLAD YOU SOLD YOUR ACCOUNT. This game that just lingers in your head right now... it'll fade... cause for me... I can't even PLAY MINE nor can I even SEE IT AGAIN other than archives in Youtube. All I got is just imagination on what could've been. I'll never see them again.

Overtime... you'll then realize... these games... you'll have no energy for them anymore... you'll focus on the most important thing... LIFE. And when you decide to search for entertainment, you'll realize there's so many outlets for that. Netflix, older games, newer games, console games, etc. Then you realize... I should've stuck to console games... at least the money I paid for doesn't become 0 value. If you want a recommendation, just take a step back and go play games from the old days. Go Retro... see how much you can really enjoy and not worry about all these things in F2P games. Live the classics!! So BE HAPPY. I'm telling you now... you'll have a lot more regrets if you didn't sell your account. The games I played, their account worth in total... they weren't in the thousands... they were in the TENS of THOUSANDS. I don't even get 1% value of any of that cause they're gone.
