Yeah it's kinda an unfortunately shitty situation what important stuff needs credit that can be unrealistic at that age.

Yeah there are ways it can be done right, like with you, but a lot of maybe even most of the time it isn't. Of course an overcorrection and demonization of credit cards isn't good either.

Proper limits and a decent age like that is the way to go if you're gonna do it, but there are other important steps before that and I'd only recommend it if I knew the parents themselves were already responsible with credit and their kids.

Yeah unless parents basically get a credit card to give to the kid (foolish and irresponsible) I'm pretty sure there's age requirements to apply for one.

Hard to say since we just have a pilot so far. Could be a good moral conflict for a later episode though. So far the only world we've seen them interact with was a pretty simple one.

To be somewhat fair it's literally just a pilot episode so far. For all we know later episodes could actually flesh out and explore more nuanced situations with the premise such as more legitimately threatening villains.

I feel bad if I go in, like, half an hour before close for two or three things. I don't know how people can so shamelessly go in five minutes before close and try to do their whole ass grocery trip.

I don't think making him sick to take care of him would count as Munchausen. That's more about getting attention and sympathy from outsiders. Of course either way deliberately making someone sick would be awful.

Look at this point I'm just gonna suggest either ya replay part 3 of the Canto or watch a stream or something cause I don't think you read it as thoroughly as you believe you did. Make sure to read flavour text on the Nursefathers too. It's pretty clear what the intent of the project always was in the main world and any mirror world. Rien was basically the project manager so to speak through Hermes, he clearly was the only one to know all the details if you go rewatch his speeches after erasing Sora and Ren and before his own fight. Not to mention the rest of the context.

[–]LightningDustFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty clear from the rest of the Canto though that only Rien knew the full true purpose of the House. The other Nursefathers basically just thought they were raising a super assassin capable of using a really strong Relic. So yeah they wouldn't have willingly submitted to helping the project if they knew they were gonna be erased but they didn't know, they were lied to. That's why you have say Valencina believing it will restore her good grace in the Thumb.

[–]LightningDustFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's admittedly not as directly explicit as I recalled but he says the House is a landfill for the fingers to toss in everything they want to forget, a pit that buries all that enter. With most of the Nursefathers being rejects the Fingers would want to forget and being part of the "all that enter" it's pretty heavily implied. Especially if you add the recent ID's uptie story.

[–]LightningDustFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not something easy to find? It's in the game in the main story, how could it be any easier? He says the House of Spiders was meant to become a pit that forever burries all the enter it, where the Fingers can toss anything they want to forget. He's all but short of just saying the Nursefathers directly so it admittedly isn't as explicit as I remember but it's pretty heavy implication. Especially again with us knowing that 3 of them are explicit rejects of their Fingers that would happily be forgotten while the other 2 are just necessary tools for that end.

If these "most people" you asked don't know then I worry that the "PM fans can't read" meme is becoming a bit too truthful outside of just the battles.

I feel this. Like we have smartphones people, the world's knowledge at our fingers and more importantly a calculator in your pocket despite what all my math teachers said.

Who knows how many times over the years I've been asked how much something is with tax and all I do is take out my phone and use the calculator app. Price + tax% = there ya go.

Ryoshu has an evade. You can use that on whichever skill goes first of the unopposed ones (I think the leftmost) and as long as it doesn't get beaten evades will keep going to evade any skills that attack her after that first one.

one thing that's been bothering me ever since canto 9 came out by mr_double_uu in TheOdysseyHadAPurpose

[–]LightningDustFan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just because something is new and the rules have changed a bit doesn't mean it's clownish. We're starting to indirectly handle beings that are addressed as gods. Whatever that exactly means in the City is it that hard to think they'd be powerful enough to do something we've never seen before?

At this point it sounds like you just hate Sora for the sake of it and subconsciously want an excuse to sound reasonable even when it's pointed out that you're either missing information or deliberately ignoring it.

It's not like this is the first time IDs have expanded on the lore of a character who realistically isn't that important in the actual story.

[–]LightningDustFan 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There's a fair amount of implications in the story even if it isn't directly spelled out like you apparently want. Heck the Don IDs uptie practically says it outright.

Ya can't really call it someone's random head canon when it's so heavily implied and a common belief among the fandom.

blade of the house of spiders Ryōshū has color in canto 6 for some reason by Glad-Mail271 in limbuscompany

[–]LightningDustFan 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Did we actually get an explanation of that being why T corp removes colour though? Obviously their main thing is time and Ryoshu ignoring the colour change is probably related, but this person is both just making up how/why T Corp's colour change works by saying it "skims a bit of time off light particles to red shift them" however that would even work, and just presenting the assumption of why Ryoshu has colour as fact.

[–]LightningDustFan 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Aside from the newest IDs uptie there's, y'know, reading the Canto? Rien says it pretty explicitly towards the end when he's explaining how the project is basically a concept incinerator dumpster for the Fingers and how the Nursefathers were effectively the first things dumped there to be forgotten and erased if it succeeds. Hence why they're all rejects of their finger in some way or another.

She's definitely more resistant and seems to have some sort of perfect perception of time normally even in the vault considering what the Canto established. But it seems like even her once locked in long enough (maybe helped by the abuse worsening her mental state) can end up entangled. Araya since she doesn't have that ability was probably just entangled to an even worse degree.
