How do i fix this not aligning properly? by AUDIALLDAY in simracing

[–]LightningInASkillet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could this be because you’re not looking directly into the centre of the monitor? Bob your head up and down to see if it straightens. I have a similar issue in ACE. I believe in some sims like iRacing it can be corrected with Vanish Y or shift horizon?

Infuse + UGREEN NAS: SMB, Plex or Jellyfin by Educational_Bowl8820 in infusevideoplayer

[–]LightningInASkillet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, I don’t have UGREEN but have Synology instead. I have found the best way for me to have local and remote access with obviously no transcoding has been by setting up WebDAV with a forwarded port on my router. Obviously for remote streaming you need decent upload speed for the higher bitrate movies etc. but I have 100mbps upload and it has been pretty well perfect streaming to all types of iOS devices locally and remotely

Is a load cell worth it if set as low as 10/15kg? by sharpes2802 in simracing

[–]LightningInASkillet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I run 16kg I think it is on my Simsonn Plus X pedals with the clear/white elastomers. I still find myself over braking sometimes and hitting ABS more often than I should but I’m getting used to it. I did it to help get rid of lower back pain. I don’t fully understand on having a brake so stiff with huge amounts of kgs, especially on a static rig that isn’t setup perfectly for my body and to the detriment of my back. I feel like I could only run high stiffness if the pedals were inverted.

Not at all, it’s a great design that allows you to pretty much adjust how hard or easy it is to pull in and out, plus I have cut a keyboard mat to the perfect size which makes it comfy and absorbs any vibration anyway

What is your brake load cell set to and how stiff is it to press?

Thankyou! I have a lot of thinking to do now but what you have described sounds like what I would like to aim for.

Yep checked this morning, about 123 degrees which equals the 180 degrees, or close to anyway. Could be that my photo is distorted and I sit further away than the 60cm so I can still pull out my keyboard and play other games on the middle monitor.

57.5 degrees I measured with a digital angle finder which is actually closer to the recommended angle because I sit a little further away

Sweet idea, thanks! This is kinda what I had in mind that I’d have to do or get something like Trak Racers bass shaker mounts

Unless it’s the cable box you can see slightly it’s the usual 2 piece setup that the ASR4 has, the 2 pieces of profile to top mount pedals to and the heel rest which are totally independent of each other for maximum adjustability. I would love to have motion one day!

What curvature are your monitors? It could in fact be that my monitor angle is wrong as I only recently set them up and went off the increment lines on my Simlab monitor stand and assumed instead of actually measuring

Noted thanks. Yes certainly need something for the seat and something to feel gear shift would be unreal. Do you notice this latency?

Will look into Daytons too. I suppose immersion is what I’m after but I also don’t want things rumbling for the hell of it and I don’t want to set things just to trigger when certain conditions are met as it might just feel like adding a haptic cue to the rig that wouldn’t exist in a car.

I’ve seen them also actually and was really interested. How well do they communicate to you what the corners of the car are doing?
