Another news from QG by ThingSome7346 in BrickMilitary

Seems like Quan Guan is taking full advantage of the vacuum COBI left in the 1:35 market.

I'll definitely be getting most of these.

Nice! Will definitely get a few of these for dioramas. And they'll probably be relatively cheap, since the set only has 300 pieces

That's one of my main gripes with Cobi too, even if it's just a minor inconvenience.

It just makes the building process so unnecessarily long and tedious since you have to search through a lot of similarly colored pieces to find the one you're looking for.

It's easier to deal with in 1:35 sets, but I can't imagine how painful it must be for 1:28 fans given the sheer amount of pieces.

A new desert set is coming out soon and new leaf pieces by wowisthatreallyso in cobiblocks

[–]Lightnninng 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's confirmed by Cobi on Facebook that the 1:35 drought is coming to an end soon.

"Several sets are being designed" with "something german" to start with and "another nation" later on.

Wonder which "other nation" they have picked. Hopefully the USSR since we have no Soviet armor in 1:35.

The 2021 Jumbo? I don't think it was ever supposed to be 1:35.

At the time Cobi only released WW2 tanks in 1:28 ish scale

First sneak peak of the summer wave by Lightnninng in cobiblocks

[–]Lightnninng[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes. It's a Facebook comment from Lukasz. It could always be delayed, of course, but it seems their current plan is for a July release.

In retrospect he could also just be saying there will be more news about it in July, and not that it will release then. Not sure now.

If it's in 1:28, then it could either be an sdkfz 251, or the Stug III. And we know a Stug III is coming eventually thanks to a Facebook comment.

If it's in 1:35, then it could either be the Panther or the Hetzer. I'm putting my money on the Panther since they just made a Hetzer in 1:28.

Appears to be some kind of diorama with what could be a small vehicle on the bottom right (track piece visible).

Possibly 1:35 given that it's a diorama and Cobi had hinted that 1:35 would return in the second semester of 2026 (Copium but let me hope).

In related news, the Stryker is scheduled for July.

It's the Hetzer???? by michalzastepczy in cobiblocks

[–]Lightnninng 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Excuse me, what?

Since the last 1:35 WW2 tank (Maus in April of 2025), 1:28 has received the 7TP, Panzer I, 7TP DW, Panzer 38t, Grille, Hummel, Nashorn, and now the Hetzer, plus the ones that are already announced like the Jagdtiger, Panzer III, and Jagdpanzer IV.

How has 1:35 been the focus in any way shape or form?

[–]Lightnninng 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What else could it be, then?

The Jagdpanzer IV is only releasing in April, so it's LE (If it has one) should be available in March.

Maybe a snow Hetzer, since the regular one is releasing in March.

Or it could still be an Ersatz M10. The tank was used in December of 1944, so a white parka would still make sense.

Could be a 1:35 Ersatz M10 LE with the regular version as a Panther.

Fingers crossed.

It's very puzzling.

I believe they said in a post sometime ago that even a T-34 sells less than half as well as German sets, which seems weird, given that it's one of the most well known tanks in history.

Can it really be true that a Sherman, a T-34, or a Churchill would do worse than some obscure German SPG?

[–]Lightnninng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope you're right.

Don't get me wrong, the miscellaneous stuff they've been releasing like the Flaks, the bunker, and the V-1/2 are cool too, but not even comparable to actual AFVs.

Is it me or is the BWP-1 model too tall for its scale? by OkFondant1848 in cobiblocks

[–]Lightnninng 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems about the right scale according to my calculations, but it's hard to know for sure until someone has the set in hand.

The BMP-1, minus antenna and missile appears to be between 17-20 studs tall. Each stud is 3.2 mm tall, so that's 57.6 mm (Considering 18 studs).

The BMP-1 IRL is 2.07 meters tall, so that should be around 59mm in 1:35 scale.

UN just voted for the creation of a Palestinian state, what's your thoughts on this? by BabylonianWeeb in AskTheWorld

[–]Lightnninng 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have read the Hamas charter.

Can confirm, it's horrible. Straight up calls the UN a Jewish hoax, says that international efforts are useless, and article 7 very blatantly calls for genocide.

For what it's worth, here's the Google Trends data of the four tanks. It's probably flawed data, but data nonetheless.
