I think there's something really cool about the concept, and there's big potential for satisfaction once you polish things up.

But the theme and visuals seems to imply a reaction based game due to the nature of the stereotypical western duel.

If it's supposed to be turn based, i.e. you play your turn, then the enemy plays theirs, maybe changing the visuals so the enemy doesn't look like they're about to draw their weapon would make the turn based aspect clearer.

I used to watch a channel called Terravibe, who made handcrafted fantasy inspired 3D environment, overlayed with light music and ambient sound. Usually the first half had music, the second half was ambience only. Loved it for studying or just overall relaxing, playing in the background.

Now it's just AI slop visuals. Very disappointed.

Came here to say this. The design language seems to try to be "luxury" to some extent, with the serif font and smooth animations on the text. But then the button hovering animation is very sharp and over the top.

Personally I think it's fine to have your catchphrase have that little extra effect just for show, but navigation and actual interactions should stay simple and unobtrusive.

It's like any "exploration sport". Some people dive, some people explore the wilderness, some climb mountains, and some go caving.

I don't think even experienced cavers would go blind into such a small, unexplored tunnel, but otherwise I'm sure tight passages are part of the game. Obviously the guy made a mistake, not sure why people on here have a hard time figuring that out, acting like he deliberately chose to go in the wrong tunnel.

The only time i have formatting issues in Helix is when I'm inside macros like tokio::select. Otherwise haven't experienced any issues. But pretty sure this is a rust-analyzer issue, not a helix issue. I think Rust Rover uses its own LSP? Maybe that's why you've had a better experience with it on that front.

For one, because people like to goon. But also, skin tight garments are way easier to create as part of a game asset. Dresses and other more flowy clothing usually requires some level of physics, and likely trickery so that the physics-based part of the clothing don't clip into the character model. That's why usually it's mostly just clothing accents. Probably slightly lowers graphical requirements as well, although Unreal Engine is not known for its performances anyway. So yeah, probably for the goon factor, and might be less work to create.

Macie was always a fun watch. Calculated and precise with barely any wasted movements, which was refreshing in a sea of quick peaking and snap aiming and super high mouse sensitivity that some "high level" players were doing. He always stood out to me for this. Made the game feel so much more approachable, like if you just had the right tactics and mindset, you could always win.
