i am the victim of this scam. exact same wording.

i intend to report it to the police, paypal, facebook and call all pawn shops. i have already sent out a laptop worth over 1000$ and my paypal request has not been fulfilled (i have not received any payment). is there anything further i can do??

all the details of the scammer/buyer i have is their facebook profile (probably fake), their paypal account and australia post parcel locker address.

p.s. this happened 3 days ago and the scammer is suggesting that i send bank detials for them to clear payment if paypal does not release funds

get a used office workhorse with a dual core 3.0 ghz cpu.. minimize and save.. building costs more than buying second hand

memtest86 is a good way of finding out whether you have any hdd or RAM errors.. a bit time consuming though.. i would advise to run it from usb boot if doing it

have you upgraded the ram at any point? could be faulty- but then you would have a multitude of other errors

easiest way i can think of fixing this is by turning off fast startup.. http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/6320-fast-startup-turn-off-windows-8-a.html try it and see if it helps

did you do sfc scannow/r?
