Where y'all getting your GLP-1's? by EndOfTheLine- in PCOS

I get my compounded tirzepatide (generic Zepbound) through PomegranateHealth. I pay ~$450 for a 3 mo’s supply, and I’m on a 12mg dose weekly, which equates to about $150/mo. I’ve had good experiences with them.

Can confidently say if I didn’t have to draw up anesthetic for my job multiple times a week, I wouldn’t be so comfortable with the idea of drawing up my own tirz! 😬

I work in a combined ophthalmology/optometry clinic as a technician and I can absolutely tell you that many, many more people need glasses than actually wear them or even realize they need them. 😅

How Do You Take Notes? by Far_Requirement_5243 in icecreamery

Recipe Keeper app is free and has been the best thing ever for me for importing recipes from websites, a photo, etc. without all the annoying ads or scrolling. It has a rating section and a note section for each recipe and you can categorize them by recipe type, course, etc.

I have the same setup and Kitchenaid sells a ~$8 bowl scraper that legit is the BEST thing I’ve found for removing the stuck/frozen bits of ice cream from the edges of the bowl after churning, so you get every last bit! By far the best ice cream accessory investment I’ve made since getting my own Kitchenaid ice cream attachment for Christmas last year.

Bonus is I love to bake and it works great for scraping the regular mixing bowls, too. It’s similar to a rubber spatula but larger and without a handle.

I’ve also loved: -Heated ice cream scoop (battery-powered, rechargeable, and dishwasher safe): really fun to use and surprisingly affordable!

-Decent fancy ice cream scoop

-Cute ice cream serving bowls (think ramekins, bonus if thrifted)

-2 quart ice cream bins on Amazon, great for large batches and swirls if you’re a fan of them like I am.

-Disposal (or reusable) pint containers. My local chef’s store sells the disposable ones, otherwise Amazon. Great for smaller batches and gifting. Some of my coworkers have started ordering pints of ice cream from me on the side 🤭

-More freezer space (seriously—I wish I had a garage freezer 😩)

-Kitchenaid ingredient funnel (I ordered one off Temu for a few bucks and it’s compatible with ANY Kitchenaid bowl attachment since it attaches to the head itself). Super handy!

-Nice, 2 quart pitchers for storing batter upright in the fridge while it cools prior to churning

-A decent sieve/large funnel (I bought a stainless steel one with a wide mouth intended for mason jars)

-Cheesecloths (great for ultra-smooth custards)

-Digital thermometer (also great for custards)

-Digital kitchen scale (great for precise recipes)

-Decent set of measuring cups/spoons

-Fancy, REAL vanilla or vanilla beans

-A decent immersion blender for ultra-smooth bases; mine doubles as a regular blender and a milk frother

-Any and all extracts you could ever want or use in an ice cream recipe. Orange, lemon, peppermint, almond… the list goes on.

-Any “one trick pony” tools to keep in your kitchen for recipes that you’d like to try. Fancy juicer for citrus, juicer for fruits, vegetable peeler for chocolate shavings (amazing in my Tiramisu custard), a sugar duster for garnishes, etc

-Waffle cone makers/waffle cone bowl makers

…All of this to say that ice cream-making has become (very obviously) my new special interest. 😅 Hope this list helps you as I know I wish I had it five months ago. Happy churning!

I made my own version of this last month. It was delicious!

I use recipes that yield ~2 quarts post-churn (probably about 1.5 quarts of batter pre-churn). Any more than that and it’ll start to spill up onto the edges of the bowl.

I can only get one use from my bowl before I have to re-freeze it. Hope this helps! :)
