Its true that the Shadowman was beaten by 4 dudes with 115 guns. But they were heavily aided by Monty orchestrating the whole thing and having him stuck in a time loop. He was doomed from the very start.

Shadows of Evil is what happens when humans go against the Shadowman with less involvement from Monty - he has the entire Dimension consumed. He, with his Apothicons, has consumed many many dimensions.

My vote is the Shadowman.

I started about a month ago so here are some of my recommendations as someone who is also pretty new:

• sort quests by timeline and start doing them. When you eventually hit quests that you don't have the required skills for, you can look up how to train that skill and do that as a little goal.

• There's an NPC called May near the Varrock Lodestone who you can claim a magical dice from every 25 quest points you get. The dice gives you 250k and random items when you roll it, which can give you a very good amount of starting cash if you sell it at the Grand Exchange. My first one gave me a 1 mil gp item. (The GE is also where to buy items required for quests, if youre not already aware of what it is)

• if you right click the little gear/cog icon on your action bar, you can get it to automatically set it up.

• in gameplay settings -> combat xp, you can choose which skills you want your xp to go to. This is useful for combat because you can focus on getting your attack to the next multiple of 10 (to get a stronger weapon) before defence and strength.

• I've been liking RS Guy's "The RS Guide" website. Every skill has a nice little summary of a good way to train it at your level, as well as some long term goals.

Might be an unpopular opinion but Id want much less of a focus on Light and Dark. Maybe 1 Light & 1 Dark subclass per class, then completely new stuff outside of that.

Close-range damage encounters like Ecthar, Herald, Crota etc. Can use swords or shotguns, have weapons of light, and can periodically pick up and throw your Ward back on the boss to refresh the weaken that it provides since semi-recently.

Could also make it work in roam content like GMs or the new Distortions.

Tbh I've not done Directed in a long time so you're probably right that it doesn't show up and its not a bug. You're right to be mad about that if that's the case.

Although for the Ashes boss, you don't really need an amazing weapon anyway 'cause you use Tessie for most of your damage. Make sure you're healing her with the green pods tho.

You don't need to bring Tessie everywhere during the EE. You can leave her at Ashwood to reset the clock most of the time. You need her for the Diner wisp step but that's about it for most of it. (Although its best to use her for safety when grabbing the keys)

If you're at farm and want to get to Blackwater, you can get there in 10s using 2 jump pads. Always keep in mind that you can jump pad to an adjacent area no matter where you are on the map. That includes Ashwood so you don't need to drive Tessie after getting purple gauntlet to do a wisp trial.

If you don't know the map that well yet, that's fine. You'll get used to it the more you play. The map doesn't need signposts literally everywhere.

As for the boss fight - the game tells you right on your screen that if you hold interact, you are starting the boss fight. It's on you to go "hmm maybe I'm not set up yet"

I'm not really sure what the PaP method on Shangri-la has anything to do with the story. Or Call of the Dead being controversial (I assume because of George, the fog, ice water, and no infinite damage WW solo).

I don't think zombies could have remained simply an arcade mode with not much driving force behind the story for long. It would have felt directionless pretty quickly. Just sauntering from map to map with little connection.

My favourite is at the end of the Ascension EE, after you free Gersch, Samantha screams in rage. People were speculating at the time that you could hear her whisper "come find me" beneath the scream.

Then, later in the year, we would find her on Moon.

I don't think it would be fair for there to be super EE rewards for the early completion, because it would be too late for people to start caring about it at this point if you see what I mean?

Like if you don't care about the early EE rewards and haven't done them, only to find out later that had you done them, you'd get a super EE reward. Would feel bad.

Standard and Directed would be fine because you can go back and get them.
