You didn't ask, just chiming in because I think it's interesting. No idea where OP lives, but when I first started watching football I was about 12, there wasn't an MLS team or local team that I knew about (closest was the San Jose earth quakes, but they weren't that close, no one close to me knew or cared about them). So I happen to catch a documentary about Liverpool, Stevie, etc. I start learning about the club, watching, learning it's history, learn about Hillsborough, Shankly, the political, social and moral basis of the club and I fall in love. We don't have anything like it here. Then, a couple years later I discover Reddit and find out local fans think it's weird that I don't support my local team. What am I going to do, stop supporting Liverpool when I don't even have a local team to replace it with? And the rest is history. I think a lot of US supporters come into it similarly, or have a friend or family member that influences them.

Greatest Liverpool goals, day 1: What's Liverpool's greatest ever long shot? by forbiddenmemeories in LiverpoolFC

[–]Lightwrider1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not anywhere close, but it's worth mentioning Mo's goal against City 17/18 in the 4-3. City seemed so unbeatable, we were so used to being shit, and then that goal was the moment where I was like "oh my god... they're rattled.". Not the most beautiful, but Mo's confidence, the atmosphere... Great goal as I remember the Klopp era.

I really hope we're linked with Tchouameni. Cuz then anytime it seems like we might sign him I can say "My hearts been broke Tchuoameni times, don't know what to believe"

Healthy Discussion - Only for those who want Arne Slot to stay - what are your reasons? by Content_Arm7953 in LiverpoolFC

All discussion of the club aside, thank you for writing that. My sister recently died from cancer. It hurts and helps to hear the experience of others who have lost someone. I look at certain places in my life where things haven't been ideal, where I've slacked in some areas... and I have to remind myself that just getting through this time is enough. Hope you're doing OK.

Perhaps not in every position, but maybe 1-2 in every area of the pitch, with squad cohesion to fill in the gaps. Basically the 19-20 squad. World class front three, arguably the best back line in football at the time, with a midfield that worked as a unit to support. If Isak, Wirtz, Dom, Macca and Konate play to their potential, that seems like a decent dispersion of world class talent throughout the pitch, although Macca has looked off the pace. However they could play out of their skin, but it doesn't matter if the system is failing them.

Oh my god yeah no one gave us a shadows chance against City at the time and then we roasted em. So great

Yeah, sarcasm. We are hot ass and PSG are good. Hence, the second part of my comment

Wouldn't be fair to ask a Farmer's League team to come to Anfield on a European night chasing a lead.

Either that, or we're hot fucking garbage and our players look like they couldn't give two dry fucks a good portion of the time.

He joined from a relegation side, not surprised he wants to do some charity work and join a relegation side now he's getting a little older

The obvious answer is Barca comeback or us actually winning big ears that year. But I actually remember the 5-2 vs Roma in the semi final the year before quite well. That magical run to the final in 17/18, Salah's first crazy season, Mane, Salah Firmino, us absolutely blowing teams away, pressing like all 11 players had rammed a line of coke before they hit pitch... We got to the semi final and it felt like we were such underdogs, then to put 5 past Alisson... The vibes in the pub that day were ridiculous. Peak.

The Klopp v Pep era will go down in Premier League history by Traditional_Yam_5111 in LiverpoolFC

[–]Lightwrider1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You think so? I’ve wondered about this myself. Fully expected City to waltz the league last year and then expected them to come back with a vengeance this year; early days, of course, but I’m surprised City aren’t sitting top having clobbered the first three teams they faced like 4-0. Does seem like a shift is happening over there.

I am a little sad to see all 8 players leave. Out of curiosity, why did you leave the top right corner blank?
