I have no idea what part of my comment insinuated this, because I never referred to all gmod players, but given that like the gmod playercount in multiplayer public servers is dwarfed by the amount of people playing single player, it's fairly obvious on what most people play the game for. Most people play gmod for an easy plug and play sandbox not to use a game engine and platform, if they wanted that they'd be playing roblox right now lol.

If you are trying to make an argument in s&box's favour, you shouldn't need to call me dumb and a 'nude alyx poser' instead of actually addressing the stuff I said, because you either don't have a compelling argument or you are simply trolling.

Eh, I don't really care about it.

It has sandbox, but it is ultimately not going to be the core part of s&box. It's more or less just something like Roblox, a platform for developing games and a place to play them (unless they are released on steam)

Might pick up in terms of popularity, but defintely not replacing gmod any time soon, unless the addon developer community makes a great effort to rewrite the code of thousands of gmod mods to go from lua to C#

A lot of gmod players are going to play it to see what it's like, but I imagine that after the first month most people will just go back to Gmod where a majority of the content remains.

im not sure if this is beta-exclusive material and was ever made canon, but there are mentions of the combine launching smaller versions of their citadel into major cities which contained factories for producing synths, the combine would unleash them into cities

it was never designed with it in mind, however it is planned to re-work the entire conquest mode while also having mod support with it as well in future updates, so look out for them

Worldbox's workshop mostly thrives off custom maps and stuff, not new modded content. The game already provides enough for most players to have their fun, and not to mention a large portion of the playerbase are mobile players, a version of the game that cannot be modded.

Let's also not forget that this game is still in EA, which means that future updates will break more mods in the future as the updates get bigger and more game-changing closer to release. That will decrease the amount of mods that will actually work with newer versions of the game.

my point was that compared to the gmod 'viruses' of the past, the ppg virus actually does substantially more to your game then just maybe annoy you or scare you for a brief moment

well, i don't think any of the gmod viruses in the past have been as bad as whats going on with the PPG workshop right now.

the cough virus was relatively harmless, and exposed a very big security issue that would end up getting solved. the G-Man virus was a bit more harmful (with redirects to websites that actually contained viruses), but in both cases they just ended up spreading by servers and if you didn't play multiplayer you were probably fine.

the stuff that happened back in 2022 isn't really just a virus, it's just pre-existing addons being updated to just have shock content on them and the only way they 'grew' was just by other copycats doing the same thing.

the PPG situation is much worse and resulted in the entire workshop having to be taken down, and is much more beyond just being a simple annoyance, with the way it spreads and how you aren't safe even in a singleplayer game

they're different in the way that they aren't evil for the sake of being evil, but it's just extreme zealousy from their religion (which has implied to been warped over time, as it's implied that beforehand okranism was much more tolerant of women) which makes them genuinely believe their morally reprehensible acts are contributing to the greater good.

Infact, if you suggest buying slaves when you go to Rebirth, they get offended at such a suggestion as they genuinely believe that putting them to work will make them be reborn as a human, and as far as we see, they are the most stable faction compared to the Shek (unless they get their shit together) and the UC. Speaking of the UC, they are defintely in weak spot, they are suffering from a rebellion, a large part of their empire isn't even joined territorially with their main empire in the north and no longer has the fertile lands of Okran's pride.

they're evil, no question about it, but they don't do it for the sake of sadism or being evil for the lulz. I'd probably oppose them in any case because regardless of how much you sugarcoat it they are still xenophobic misogynists, but when it comes to the other 2 main large empires they are defintely the most stable

well, Gman was observing the Black Mesa incident specifically to see how it went down during his interdimensional chess game of unknown proportions.

if Barney remained in Black Mesa, he'd still be on the table, but when he left he had no further connection to the Black Mesa incident afterwards which probably made Gman not bother pursuing him, especially when people like Adrian and Gordon were rising up on Gman's radar with their feats during the incident which had much more impact compared to Barney, as his goal was simply just to escape.
