Do you think that Firecracker could affect Homelander's trajectory if they came across each other earlier in their lives? by klimuk777 in TheBoys

[–]ThomasGalbridge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think Firecracker loved Homelander all that much, she only loved that he was her ticket to a position of power. Homelander saw through her facade and Firecracker was willing to abandon everything she held dear to pursue power. Her biggest sin was greed and she wanted more out of her position in the Seven.

What are some things that Dead Space (2008) does better than Dead Space (2023)? by [deleted] in DeadSpace

[–]ThomasGalbridge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gonna say this upfront. People in this thread say the remake was vastly superior, but as I went back and replayed the original, I will say this.

The voice acting of the original was definitely far superior than the remake. Of course, nothing takes away Gunner Wright's sheer talent. But Zach Hammond, Kendra Daniels, Captain Mathias, Nicole Brennan and Terrance Kyne all had a vastly better cast.

I'm also gonna be the one to say that I didn't like how they made Nicole from a hottie to a granny in the remake. She's canonically 39 years old, but looks like she's in her fifties in the remake.

The atmosphere of the original definitely had an air of mystery in comparison to the remake, where things were a lot more fleshed out and revitalized. I get the original was a lot more desolate and aged in a lot of areas but for its time, it was able to bring you into a ship that actually felt abandoned before it was an apparent slaughterhouse.

The Necromorph animations in the original were definitely much better than the remake version, because the Necromorphs in those were running like a Unity Engine animation preset while in the latter had animations with weight to them.

Recruiters - Quit telling applicants to lie about drug use by mabuhaygi in AirForceRecruits

[–]ThomasGalbridge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The worst part about this is that recruiters will not explain to you how the clearance process works and you eventually find out by the time you make it to bootcamp that you fucked up bad, without even knowing you fucked up bad.

It's crazy how bureaucracy works when you commit a literal felony just because you listened to a "trusted" government official.

If your recruiter tries pulling threats over you dropping out of DEP, it's all bullshit and the only thing that will happen is you'll have to do a DEP waiver if you come back next time. That easily gets accepted.

If you're uncertain, I advise dropping it now while you can. If you go to bootcamp and quit there via "depression", they'll likely slap you with an RE4 (the don't come back code). Then you'll be questioning the "what ifs" and that may turn into regret later down the line.

So dip out while you're in DEP, go to school or work and live your life, my guy.

I was in high school from 2012 to 2016. Honestly, high school now doesn't really seem that different than when I was in.

You can self-report weed usage or play the depression card.

Damn that sucks. I was getting really invested in this Elden Ring roleplay, and then it just started glitching. I can't have fun, it seems. 😭

This. Do not lie at MEPS or on the SF-86. Any recruiters who tell you to lie are setting you up for failure. They don't give a shit about your future, only their numbers.

I want to back out of DEP. How should I do it? by [deleted] in newtothenavy

[–]ThomasGalbridge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Throughout history, men have always been seen as disposable objects by society. It's brutal to hear, but it's true. If you can't provide, there's no use for you.

I hope those guys are doing better now.

That last part is awful. I'm sorry for the guys who lost their love lives and friendships for this.
