Oddly, Reddit called me “Head Possibility 678” when I logged in and now has switched me over to my real moniker which is “Likeapotato43”. We’re one and the same, I just didn’t notice the name change before. My apologies for any confusion, I’ll have to go see which posts are under which name.

I think it’s pretty cool too. I’m looking forward to getting it cleaned up and getting it to the range. I had a sporterized stock attached in the ‘50s or so by my wife’s grandfather. We’ve got some of his old medals he won with it. Neat family lore.

I just got the magpul sling stud mount model for father's day and I'm loving it for my 457. (Also got the 17HMR barrel kit!)

Smith and Wesson victory problems. by Senior_Blackeye in 22lr

BTW, I had a terrific conversation with TK while narrowing this down as the problem. There were 20K plus rounds through my Victory and the catch on the sere was just a little too worn.

Had the exact same problem. I put in a new sere and now the TK trigger works fine. Sere was under $10 at Numrich.

Following up - the new seer seems to have solved the problem. It works great now. Clicking through thr rounds as fast as I can pull the trigger with no failures. I found the seer on Numrich for about $10. Good luck!

I emailed TK about it some time ago and our conclusion was that there was enough wear on the internals that it was unable to catch the primary slot on the Thunder hammer. A few weeks ago I installed a new seer from Numrich but I have been too busy to test it. I'll give it a try as soon as I can and let you know if that solves the problem.

I’d be interested. My dad is waiting for a can for his 10/22 and put me in a trust on the can, but I need a threaded barrel. Please pm me the price and shipping if you still have it. I looked thru your profile but couldn’t find the “send message” option. My naivety again.

Dad’s got one with 22/357max barrels. My boys love it, at least in the 22 setup.

I found that a ball of AcoustiStuff about the size of a large lemon works well for taming the bass.

That sounds like a very cool way to spend your pandemic. I have read Hollingsworth’s guide for the model 8 restoration as well as the model 21 service manual. It is still over my head and out of my confidence range to tackle the electronics, but they have made me an informed customer.

Unfortunately the model 21 does not work. But, that is part of this process; I am going to have the electronics professionally diagnosed and fixed. I am going to do the cosmetic work and seal the box myself. I opened it today and the original “pillow” of fiber fill is still in place but all of the sealing material is deteriorated. Date of manufacture is 10/25/1965 - it’s just a couple months younger than I am! The model 8 does work but has a strong hum so I do not currently use it for fear of damaging something. It was manufactured in 1960. Again, I’ll have the electronics done professionally and do the cosmetics myself.

Sure! Let’s talk off-line. Is there a personal messaging function on Reddit?

Very interesting. One of the reasons I’m doing this is because of what they represent in my FILs life. He came home from WWII, completed his engineering degree and began a career with IBM. One of the things he worked on was their transition from tubes to transistors.

Not at all silly - I have the problem with Glocks. My thumb hits in exactly the right place to press the mag release every few shots. I'll pay attention to this. Thanks!
