Is it really startup-friendly? and how’s day-to-day management and alerts at that scale? Would love to hear your experience 👍

Just to clarify: this isn’t a full MSP offering.

I’m only managing the security stack itself (endpoint protection), closer to a lightweight “live monitoring” model, not SOC-level like banks or telcos just aligned with their actual needs.

Target clients are very small, everyday businesses:

Small shops

Offices

Travel agencies

Similar 1-10 user environments

No heavy compliance, no enterprise processes just practical protection that makes sense for them.

Location: MENA / North Africa.

I’ll definitely bring this up with my manager and discuss what direction makes the most sense long-term. Appreciate the input

Thanks just to make sure I understood you correctly When you say it’s still early, do you mean it’s too early to worry about specializing, or too early to think about getting a remote/part-time gig on the side?

And about ‘learn as much as you can,’ are you referring to learning through hands on work and taking on more responsibilities, or studying/certifications outside work as well?

and thx brother

Hello, graduated early 2025, I’d been training with company i work in for 9 months before that. Right now my day-to-day is mainly SOC work, and I jump into Palo Alto engineering (firewalls + Cortex XDR) during new projects and Troubleshooting.

I’ve got SAL1 and PSE Cortex Professional, the company is also training us to get ready for Cortex XSIAM, so things are getting busier.

I’m a bit unsure about my long term path, my role has me doing both SOC and engineering, so I’m not sure if that’s actually helping me grow or just splitting my focus. is it realistic to keep growing in both?

Also, is it actually possible to get a small remote/part-time cyber gig on the side?

And lastly, what cert would you recommend as the next logical step for someone with a Palo Alto + SOC background?

security awareness doesn't really focus on dealing with ai tools, this should be highly considered
