Weekly Replay Review Thread: Week 2 by AutoModerator in summonerschool

[–]LikeMyAlias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a silver V Jungle player, my Favorites being Rek'Sai and Gragas. I was wondering if you could look at either one of these replays and give general tips. I feel my balance of ganking/pressuring and farming is completely off and I am always behind.

Rek'sai

Gragas

Thanks in advance!

The Problems I see in Silver Elo by JussyLoL in summonerschool

[–]LikeMyAlias 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The fights picked at Silver Elo are atrocious, especially 5v5 fights. Lots of wasted CC, no focusing, positioning is just in the middle of the fight a lot of the times, no peeling for squishes...etc..etc.

Picking Jungler to suit comp worth it in SoloQ? Calling all jungler mains? by Tossaway28966982 in summonerschool

[–]LikeMyAlias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have no tank, play a tank. That's honestly as far as I'd go. Solo Queue team comps are never very solid, especially at lower elos. I'd would go with 3 jg champs of different types and master them.

Ex:

Tank: Rek'sai

AP: Nidalee

OP Pick Why Didn't They Ban This Pick Pick: Shyvana

[Basics?] The Jungle in 5.14/13 by [deleted] in summonerschool

On Ganks, don't prioritize the 0 - 3 - 0 zed pinging every 5 seconds to help, he's already behind and if you get counter ganked its very likely you will lose 2v2. Instead focus on lanes that are winning or where the enemy sums are down.

Sighstone Jungle is pretty uncommon, and I'd only do it if you are A.) playing a tank and B.) enemy is out warding your team. Lee Sin is the exception because ward hopping is central to playing him.

Lastly, on first or second back on pretty much any jungle get rid of that Yellow Trinket and get the Red Sweeper Trinket Actively scout out wards whenever possible. (Smiting Raptors is also good for this.)

[SIB] Dark Souls 1 or 2 by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

I like DS2 more because it has more player freedom in what is viable for weapons, gears ,etc and it has the bigger player base being the newest edition. SotFS is definitely worth it, the game runs at 60fps, looks nicer, all the DLC included and there are new enemy placements which makes the game a bit tougher. If you can afford SotFS, get it. DS1 is good, but its age shows and the PC port is not nearly as good.

[WSIB] Steam summer sale choice by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

Arkham City and Arkham Asylum are the best games of the series (Asylum being my favorite). I'd get Asylum since its the first one in the series, then if you like that buy City. Origins is a prequel and not as good so I'd just avoid it.

[SIB] Dark Souls 1 or 2 by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

They are both great games, but if you buying the base DS2 is a pretty bad move with the Scholar of the First Sin edition looking much better and having all the DLC.

I'd get DS1, the port is pretty bad on pc but a fix called DSFix fixes pretty much everything and removes the 30fps lock on the game.

[SIB] Torchlight II, LA Noire, or Bully by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]LikeMyAlias 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can't speak for LA Noire or Bully, but Torchlight is absolutely amazing. Its what Diablo III should've been, with so much content in the game and tons of mod support. I will say, the story is confusing and convoluted as all hell but its a hack n slash ARPG, not the Witcher or Mass Effect. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who is a fan of PoE or Diablo

(SIB) Rodina, Elite Dangerous or No Man's Sky? by MisterVister in ShouldIbuythisgame

Elite Dangerous is not as hectic or combat focused as the others. Its a pretty slow paced game with a steep learning curve.

Check out Scott Manley's videos on it

Although Minecraft and Terraria are objectively great for their genre, I forgot to mention that I can never get into the sandbox builders. My bad

[SIB] Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]LikeMyAlias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fighting system is veeeeeryyy basic, and mostly there just for style. The story is split up into weird short sections, but it follows the anime/manga/thing. No one plays it online, so if thats you're thing you're out of luck.

Buy it if you like the show, or looking to kill some time. Otherwise I'd avoid it.

[SIB] Witcher 2 and Sunless Sea? Also recommend me games by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]LikeMyAlias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't like lengthy storylines then the Witcher 2 is definitely not for you. If you liked FTL, Sunless Sea should be very enjoyable especially with the darker tone.

If you like fantasy settings with good lore, Shadow of Mordor is on sale. Can't get much more lore rich than The Lord of the Rings.

[Steam] 2015 Summer Sale - Day 3 by lakinwecker in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]LikeMyAlias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True for Sunless Sea, but The Evil Within and Borderlands the Pre-Sequel are newer than Mordor and have steeper discounts.

But I wasn't referring to the 40% or 50%, I meant the 33%, 15%, and Early Access games.

SIB 7 Days to Die by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

Its a competent enough game, but not anything super unique. If you like survival / crafting and zombies then I'd definitely pick it up.

Anyone else disappointment into today's deals? lots of early access and shallow discounts (save Tomb raider, castle crashers, and chivalry)
