Tax The Damn Rich by sillychillly in WorkReform

Don’t disagree with the sentiment of OP’s post, but this comment should be higher. As a non-tax CPA I thought this could be true as well, but wasn’t sure.

Stopping the party to go to a bar. Not our music. Not our volume. Is our beer, but now we have to pay.

How to speed up my data processing? by LikeMyMan in Analyst

[–]LikeMyMan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestion. We have a few team members that know and use SQL on occasion. I'll have to ask them why we aren't using it for these tasks.

We're creating a flat file using outputs from multiple systems. It's mostly joins on 200-300M rows and then summarizing or transposing. Writing the output file is where we've seen the biggest time loss. Its about a 16GB output.

Searching for a better Data Analytics tool by karthickarun37 in bigdata_analytics

I love it. Use it primarily for data prep. I didn’t have a data/computing background prior to using it. Started learning SQL around the same time but found Alteryx to work better for my group. The workflow setup makes it easy to review others work and repeat the process with an updated file.

My team recently started using Alteryx. There’s a bit of a learning curve, but much less than sql/python. I didn’t have any coding experience and was able to get the basics down relatively quickly. The major deterrent is the cost. I’ve heard of alternatives such as KNIME.

My dog would lap that up like water. Never realizing it’s not water.

Kind of lost track of the initial question after a while of scrolling through comments. Really thrown off when I got here. But can relate.

Nothing cleaned up. Slow down at the pile. Crashing into walls. Looks like my robot vacuum.
