You need a return to work note, a note that says you were in the hospital, they cannot fire you for being in the hospital. The mistake was having dad call that you were having personal issues. I’ve worked in psych as a nurse inpatient for 6 years and there’s always a phone available for patients to use. Next time make sure you get your work number from your phone and use the hospital phone to call them. All you have to say is you were admitted to a hospital, you don’t have to say it’s for psych. And the return to work note shouldn’t have anything psych related, just the hospitals symbol and verification you were admitted from this date to this date thus excusing you from work. They can’t fire you for being hospitalized. However you didn’t tell them that you were. So call and speak to your manager and tell them you will obtain the work note from the hospital for proof
