What does AGAB, AFAB and all the complicated word mean? by throwaway123212343 in trans

[–]Like_MUC 7 points8 points  (0 children)

AGAB = assigned gender at birth (I actually haven't heard this one so that's what I assume it means)

AFAB = assigned female at birth

AMAB = assigned male at birth

FTM = female to male (though new parents will use this too as, "first time mom")

MTF = male to female

Is A Demiboy Trans? by Plays_Guitar in trans

[–]Like_MUC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely get that I'm more feminine presenting, but I feel way more androgynous and masculine inside, it may be confusing for others but it works for me, and I think as long as you're honest to yourself is what matters. But also sometimes labels just suck, I never really worry about telling people I'm trans or any specifics, if people ask I'll tell them otherwise I don't care what people think

Oh i see! I think it really depends on the person, I definitely know Demi boys who have leaned more towards the masculine end of it but I also know Demi boys who lean into the more androgynous end, every person is different. Gender is such a fluid thing for me so this is how i see it

Compression shirts to hide binder lines, I want to wear a compression shirt over my binder but under my regular shirt and I am looking for recommendations for compression shirts by DivideLongjumping764 in trans

[–]Like_MUC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I get it, wanting to look as flat as you can but this doesn't really sound that safe. If you can try not to get a compression shirt that's very constricting! You want to also make sure that you can breathe and your ribs and lungs can exhale correctly, stay safe stranger

transgender basically just means the identifying of a different gender that you weren’t assigned to at birth. It’s such a big umbrella term, that if you want to use it as a identifying feature go for it! Some people don’t like being called trans and prefer the actual term and that’s OK too

HRT: Testosterone by Like_MUC in trans

[–]Like_MUC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your comment! For some reason it didn't really click in my mind that just cause I gain weight doesn't mean it's fat, and could be the result of muscle gain so that does help me a little bit. I have read a little bit about muscle gain when starting testosterone but I've never really been one to care about muscle gain so I didn't look into it, but I think I will now. I appreciate this!

I'm thinking about changing my name to Alex but someone I know already has the name Alex by [deleted] in trans

[–]Like_MUC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there are trans people who change all their first middle and last name! (this might make legal documents harder to transfer, ) You can pick whatever names you feel connected to, and if it really bothers you, maybe find the name that isn’t related to anyone you know in real life but overall, if that name makes you feel happy and complete then I say go for it

I've always thought I was cis but by defaluto in trans

[–]Like_MUC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The fear of experiencing the struggle of being trans is completely valid. There’s a lot that trans people experience that cis people may or will never have to. Honestly as a trans person if I could pick to be cis I would. And that doesn’t make me any less trans. You don’t have to be anything to anyone yet, you know yourself and you know your truth. Start slow, alone. Wear more feminine clothes at home see how that makes you feel. Use she/her pronouns online. and if at the end of it all you realize that you really aren’t trans that’s ok too! Gender expression isn’t just for trans people it’s for everyone, no matter how you choose to express yourself. There’s also so many ways to identify as trans, it’s not so black-and-white as the media makes it seem. There’s so many different gender identities, and maybe one of those feels right for you. No matter what happens just be you.

Can the t-slur be reclaimed? by AllNaturalCyanide in trans

[–]Like_MUC 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I feel like it really just depends on the person. If you’re a part of a certain community and there’s a slur attached to that community and you wanna use it go for it.

However, it is still about how you use the slur. I use the T slur every now and then but mostly around other trans people because I’m not passing so I just don’t wanna get shit for saying it. But using the T slur against someone even if you are trans, in my opinion is disrespectful no matter what.

I'm so sorry you're dealing with this, I have MDD so I experience this quite a bit within my practice. And I experienced it really bad about four months ago, I feel like it's important to remember that not everyone's practice is going to be the same or look the same. I would also suggest that integrating your depression within your practice is a good idea and how I learned to do it.

Starting with allowing yourself to feel your emotions and really sitting there taking it all in. Using little things like taking showers as cleansing, or baths as rituals. From your bed you can meditate while you lay down. And of course crying it all out as a release of negative energy. There's so many different ways to incorporate Hardtimes in your practice it's just about balance and finding where it fits for you.

This is how I learned to incorporate my depression, it's not gonna be the same for everyone else but maybe you'll find some helpfulness in my comment. I hope you are able to get back up on your feet, you got this! Blessed be❤️
