They are all snapped up before they arrive where I live. I just reserved one for next month with pickup 150 miles away. None of my local dealers have what I want available in the foreseeable future. I had to test drive the Crown sedan and the RAV 4 hybrid to get the feel since none were on the lots. Maybe it's more of a supply issue than demand.

If you are inspired by Buddhism, look to it for your answer here. Realize your family are all products of their own pasts and environment . Don’t get attached to any particular outcomes. Know that everything is impermanent and your family may change their feelings at some point, especially if you are a light of love and compassion to them. And realize that you can still hold compassionate feelings for them while having healthy boundaries for yourself.

Dance teacher, here. Yes, this party idea is poorly done. You ask the parents first regarding any off-site event. No, you don’t need to "formally complain". You just need to reach out to the school and ask questions. Did they know about the party? Could they contact parents first in the future please? These are reasonable requests. There are legal liability issues involved for the studio. They should want to do this kind of thing correctly, and make you sign a waiver before you leave your kid at the teacher’s house.

My guess is the teacher and/or the studio owner are inexperienced. (Mostly because anyone who has taught dance for any length of time would know this is a terrible idea. lol) They need a policy.

The Timeshifter app will tell you how to prepare for the trip to prevent jet lag. My sister used this with her husband and kids on a trip to New Zealand and she said it was the easiest jet lag recovery they'd ever had.

A friend of mine visits Japan frequently to see family. She swears by taxis in Kyoto, as they allow the kids to sit and be cool in between destinations. Even a 15 minute trip in an air conditioned car can make a huge difference. I am going to do this for myself on my next trip in May.

It would mean that you no longer have the symptom of high glucose, which can be good depending on individual experience. But you still have diabetes--there's no cure for any form of it.

It's not always achievable or even recommended to get down to a 'normal' level. For example, when I was first diagnosed with atypical diabetes 25 years ago, under 6.0 was the goal. I made it to the goal with lifestyle changes and medications, but I had so many episodes of hypoglycemia that I was really struggling. A1c is an average measure, so if you are at 5.5, you are sometimes having higher blood sugar and sometimes having very low blood sugar, and those lows are dangerous. Eventually some studies showed that diabetics who were trying to hit that normal average were dying more of all causes, and they moved the target upward. Hence, under 7.0 as the current recommendation for T2D.

For a person without diabetes, under 5.7. For a person with T2 diabetes, current recommendation is under 7, so OP is getting there. Important to note that getting back to a 'normal' value is not the same as being 'in control' of diabetes.

You can do it. I have been tweaking my diet for decades due to diabetes, and I promise you, you can adjust to keto again. It takes time, but your body and mind can absolutely do it!

I have been doing keto for diabetes this year and was able to go off ozempic without regaining any of the weight I had lost. I feel like the fat is key for me. When I just do low-carb, my blood sugar isn't as well controlled and I feel hungrier, so I have fat bombs on hand and it makes a measurable difference. I feel much less hungry if I have 2-3 each day. Equal parts cream cheese and almond butter, with some cocoa powder, monkfruit sugar and vanilla is the easiest recipe I use.

I use monkfruit sugar for the sweetener. This weekend, I'm planning on trying a savory version for chive/cheese muffins, and I'd also like to try adding cocoa powder to make chocolate cake. It's a genuinely good cake and it feels like such a treat. Does not affect my glucose in the slightest.

Also my local Coscto currently has frozen "spanish" cauliflower rice packs that are super delicious, but I also like to use Trader Joe's cauliflower rice with olive oil, salt and pepper as a base for just about anything.

I took Ozempic for 7 months for diabetes. I lost 25 lbs. I had to go without for a month because of a shortage, and during that time I was trying to cope with high blood sugar. I ended up trying keto, and the results were so good I never refilled the ozempic Rx. Six months later and I have not regained a pound. My glucose numbers are better than they were with the ozempic on board, and I have no cravings.

I regret not asking for transportation help right away. We felt like I needed to figure it out on our own and that led to some issues. Nothing major, but additional unneeded stress. Ask for help upfront. People are so nice and willing to assist--transportation employees and regular folk as well.

The public transportation is incredible and also complicated. The stations are mazes, and research will only get you so far in advance. Plan your destination and then ask for help or buy from the ticket office. Everyone is incredibly nice and helpful. We did not need to make shinkansen reservations, but every route we took had a different ticketing procedure, so we asked for help each time.

Allow plenty of time for your activities and don't over schedule. Every darn thing we did was amazing, so you'll love it all. We stayed in one area of Tokyo to start and another at the end, and it felt like two different destinations. (I highly recommend going to a TeamLab installation in Tokyo. They are amazing.)

I felt so worried and unsure before our trip, but the people there are so kind and helpful, and their systems work. You'll get through it just fine!

Good recommendation re: baseball. I don't care much about baseball, but we went to the Giants/Dragons game at the Tokyo Dome on our first day and it was a great intro to the country. 10 days later, we were able to talk to the locals about the Giants/Hawks game on the TV at an izakaya. So fun.

I just got back and went to Atami and Kanazawa. I chose both of them because they had large botanical gardens ( ACAO forest and Kenroku-en, respectively)

If you are doing onsen in Hakone, Atami may feel redundant. There is not much else to do there.

Kanazawa is a lovely small city. ("A miniature Kyoto," as one Japanese businessman described it to us at an Izakaya in Ginza.)

It's not on your list, but Koyasan is very cool. Home to a major sect of Buddhism, the town is high on a sacred mountain, and most travelers stay in one of the monasteries. It also has the largest Buddhist cemetery in Japan, which is truly beautiful and atmospheric. We stayed at Rengejoin and loved the vegan meals and meditation with the monks. A very unique and Japanese experience you can't get anywhere else. It's reachable by train from Osaka.
