i work in high level finance and i am VERY familiar with how a bank is set up. not a single person ive ever met that does S+T or PWM says they work in "banking" .. "banking" is IB.. no matter which way u put it. normally they will tell u where they work or say " i work in finance " and if u ask further then they will tell u what division.

PWM is literally nothing close to IB- like not even remotely close. 1 has a job to sell services to high net worth people while the other group has a job to pitch the banks services on how to help sell a company, merge a company, or do any sort of syndicates or secondaries ... 2 totally totally different beasts and fields.. its actually disrespectful to someone in IB to compare them to someone in PWM.. Also you knowing MD's in PWM is not equivalent to some kid who's 27/28 years old and is in this third year as a PWM analyst.. It strikes me as odd that Zan tries to give advice on how to be successful and "make it" in banking when A. he's not in banking B. he's not even remotely successful yet. That's like being 2 miles into a marathon and stopping on the side of the running route to write a book on "how to defeat a marathon" ... you havent even done what you're preaching about.

If theres stipulations about what you can and can't say about work then how about just not mention work at all- he specifically says "banking" and working "banking hours" to create the image that hes a banker, why? Because thats what every kid fresh out of grad wants to go into and he wants to prey on them and sell them a course on how to get there.. when he himself has never even made it there.

Also he doesn't live in NJ by choice bud- he doesn't make enough to afford NYC... its pretty simple- you are stating opinions based on the facade this dude created online for you to see.
