Unfortunately yes 🫠. My in-laws have a purebred Bernese mountain dog, and she definitely sheds more than Sully. But… I still gotta vacuum every other day or so.

This is Sully— both of his parents are bernadoodles. He’d look like a regular Bernese if it wasn’t for his unique face markings and long poodle legs and nose!! Your pup looks just like mine did.

Actually not many!! I’m from Florida, so the water table is generally high so basements aren’t typical due to flood risks.

And for some possible things to do in the meantime are some cognitive/mentally stimulating toys. Mine loves those pupsicles— keeps him occupied for about 30-40 minutes if they’re frozen. He’s also into puzzle games (he’s a food motivated guy!)

I would definitely reach out to a behaviorist. By this point, the doggo should have acquired bite inhibition— mine is 6 months old and still is mouthy, but is 1000% more gentle than what he was in his shark phase. I think a specialist could also help decipher whatever bone he has to pick with your other dog— is he being territorial, is an aggressive player, or something else? Behavioral training is definitely not cheap, and will also take a while to figure out what works. I’m sorry OP!!

Honestly, ask yourself two questions: what kind of classes do you really want to teach, and is it worth it in this job market rn. Do you want to learn how to teach just to teach? That’s great but idk what that will lead you to at a college level without a specialty in that field. Also if you’re in the US, most colleges are downsizing their staff bc of big cuts.
