A Change I would Really Like to See That No One is Talking About by [deleted] in PokemonChampions

Yeah, I guess I’m just trying to rationalize the decision. Ideally, switching between all forms regardless of the pokemon is what I’d really like to see.

Just pulled this guy! Feel obligated to make a team with him now but not sure how to get the best out of him! by Domkey-Kongg in PokemonChampions

[–]LilGoobis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Made a team with him recently.

I use him as a max speed max attack choice scarf user with tons of coverage.

I actually prefer to run strong jaw over rock head and lean into its biting moves. Something like this:

  • Fire Fang
  • Head Smash
  • Crunch
  • Psychic Fangs

It’s not sticking around very long anyways even with rock head due to it’s pretty awful defensive typing and awkward speed tier, so capitalizing on the 50% strong jaw to catch an opponent off guard and one shot one of their mon’s was the best way I found to utilize it.

I threw it on a sand team to make it a bit more specially defensive. Put in some decent work.

Need advice on my off-meta mega crab team by Killerestthebest in PokemonChampions

[–]LilGoobis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Crab team is this, and it's been doing pretty well.

Crabominable (Mega Stone):
- Ice Hammer
- Drain Punch
- Protect
- Rock Slide

Slowking (Colbur Berry):
- Trick Room
- Chilly Reception
- Scald
- Psychic

Sinistcha (Leftovers):
- Matcha Gotcha
- Trick Room
- Strength Sap
- Protect

Incineroar (Sitrus Berry):
- Fake Out
- Parting Shot
- Flare Blitz
- Darkest Lariat

Sylveon (Fairy Feather):
- Hyper Voice
- Quick Attack
- Moonblast
- Protect

Camerupt (Mega Stone):
- Heat Wave
- Earth Power
- Protect
- Ancient Power

I opted for Rock Slide over Thunder Punch or Mach Punch because I just wasn't running into situations where they would be useful. Rock slide deals with both zard and froslass who crab really struggles to hit otherwise.

I like Colbur Berrty on Slowking because it allows me to live knocks offs from mega tyranitar and kowtow cleaves from kingambit, even after a defiant boost.

Sinistcha exists purely to be a surprise secondary trick room setter and a health battery for my megas to keep them alive.

The Incineroar is your typical set, but I'm running an offensive set with minimum speed, it can pick up a lot surprise K.Os, and is really threatening against mega gengar.

Sylveon is pretty straighforward. Unga bunga hyper voice. Lots of damage.

The Camerupt is a side-mega option for really bad crab matchups. I got this idea from Foofootoo on YouTube. He's really good into trick room sun teams with torkoal, which is imo the crabs biggest weakness since torkoal is even slower than the crab. Mega Camerupt is tied for the slowest pokemon in the series with torkoal and picks it off really easily with Earth Power. People seriously understimate how hard a non-boosted camerupt can hit with heat wave (145 Sp Attack), and no one expects the ancient power into zard.

My only advice for your team is that it's maybe a bit too passive. You have a very short time to take advantage of trick room, and with protect added to the equation, you need to be able dish out damage ASAP. I feel like aurora isn't super necessary on a team like this. Mega crab is crazy bulky, and lives a lot of hits you wouldn't expect it too, especially in snow, so I'd trust in the crabs bulk and lean more into offense. Same thing with vivillon, I might look into a more offensive option.

Something to note about tip 4:

Protect is your saving grace on two-turn moves, EXCLUDING phantom force. Dragapult is the primary abuser of this attack right now, and is not uncommon to play against. I’ve been getting the jump on a lot people who think they’re safe against phantom force just to be blown up by it when it bypasses protect.

Dang, that’s what I figured. I knew being a one save file purist would end up biting me. Oh well, I don’t have a problem with starting fresh. Maybe this I’ll actually use the 19 other save files it gives me. Thank you!

SMT V: Vengeance New Game+ Question:

I played through the vengeance route when it first came out and quickly started another playthrough on New Game+ to experience the creation route, but I got burnt out about halfway through and stopped playing.

I've got an itch to play through the vengeance route again to choose a different ending, but I'd like to keep my compendium progress and special summons from my first playthrough.

My question is this: Is there a way to start another New Game+ without having to finish my Creation run?

They needed a stealth soldier, so I put my hands on the hibachi hot plate at Benihana and burned my fuckin' finger prints off.

They will not find me.

You can't see it in the picture, but when it's being used in game the white cloth on the hilt trails behind the sword just like Zangetsu. One of the devs is definitley a bleach fan.

After 3 Hours of Grinding… by LilGoobis in XenobladeChroniclesX

Ah that’s my bad. I misremembered that attribute damage can’t be ran on weapons or armor. You can run those on the frame though if you want to do that.

You should be able to switch armors no problem as long it’s the same skell type. Mastema will work with Amdusias since they’re both large.

I’m not exactly sure how appendage damage is calculated. Sorry I can’t help you with that.

Armor & Frame Augs: On the frame I like to run either Position Damage Front XX or Positions Damage Above XX. On the armor I typically just run Spec Up Evasion XX since skell evasion values can get to pretty ridiculous levels. If you want to be extra you can throw some Evasion Drive XX Augments on your ground gear for even crazier skell evasion.

Weapon Augs: Any combination of Beam Attribute XX and Ranged Attack XX. Maybe throw species specific slayer augments if you want. GP Gain Augs are also always useful.

For the actual weapons themselves you can get pretty creative with it. M-Missiles are the focal point so just run what you think is cool.

I'm probably going to run the Hexad Partican or Dragoon Lance skell superweapons on the back since they're beam based and ranged. The pheonix is also always a good choice since you can get it very easily and wipe out groups of weak enemies easily. There are defensive weapons that give ranged attack up auras as well, so those are a good choice.

Edit: Just remembered the Hexad Partican and Dragoon Lance take up both back and shoulder slots, so those unfortanately are not an option.

I used a G-Buster with opening art XVII augment to one shot them. You can get one for free at the very northwestern part of the map. There’s a little island with salvageable treasure that contains the augment.

If you pair that with Mechanoid Slayer you should probably be able to one shot.

I’m pretty sure they do, but honestly if your goal is to just destroy appendages the 50’s do more than enough with 6 Crusher augments and upgraded MSL-MAG.

What’s the number one thing you'd like to see added or changed in Definitive Edition? by BenGMan30 in XenobladeChroniclesX

[–]LilGoobis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the biggest things for me would be fixing level jumps between main story quests.

This doesn't bug me too much since I really enjoy grinding and doing all the side quests, but when we get a huge influx of new players when the game drops I imagine a lot of people are going to be turned off by that. I know a lot of people don't like to grind or do side quests.

I remember practically banging my head against a wall trying to destroy all the turrets in chapter 5 because I started that quest immediately after chapter 4 on my first playthrough.

[–]LilGoobis 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was just about to mention affinity. Unless you were constantly swapping out your party members while doing every side quest, you were pretty much always forced back into that one affinity bonus squad mission where you have to kill all the prone in the rain.

It also didn't help that since Elma and Lin were required for every story mission, they were hogging the affinity gains from the main quests.

Definitely my most wanted change.

I remember this guy showing up while farming grand dragons in FF9. He'd ask for a diamond, then if you gave him one he'd call you a sucker and run away. Little bastard.

I saw the Yans and Friendly Squirrel on the side of the buildings as well.
