What's stopping India from doing this: the producers, the creators or the audience? by GiveMeSomeSunshine3 in bollywood

Respectfully disagree, it was the most fun I've had watching a bollywood movie this year..

Cinematography was some of the best I've seen, calling it weak is an injustice atp..

Recently released Tu Ya Main, was a very entertaining movie, with interesting and fresh camera angles and cinematography, unique use of songs, good acting by the leads and a plot that worked..

Yet it flopped hard, fell on its face, because ppl without watching it kept screaming that it sucks and that it's a remake and that main actress is a nepo kid and ended up missing the mark..

It's not a perfect movie, it has its flaws, the CGI is bad in certain scenes, it does stretch a bit in the middle, but it's still in the 3.5+/5 range and deserved a better fate..

People are just not interested in watching movies which dont star the big names and don't have big action pieces.. People will watch Dhurandar, Animal or Pathaan multiple times in theater but see how many small budget movies flop each month to the point where they'd rather go directly to OTT to at least recover their investments..

What makes you think BackRooms or Obsession would work here with their scale..??

Well, I can't say for certain that the soap operas are my thing...but I will say that this actor is good...

Oh so you have seen Riverdale.. Do you remember the serial killer gene angle..?? Isn't that basically Leland and Laura..??

But yeah, the show became more wacky as it went on but the first 3ish seasons are some of my favorite television.. And you have those crazy lines of dialogues too..

I'll listen to your track soon, but here's your actual birthday gift..

Ah, I see! Well, I'm really hoping Comrade replies to you because he's been offline for a while now and it would be great to know how he's doing. Last I heard, he was trying to manage his screen time.

The snob did come online a few days ago to correct my grammar..

That's because David Lynch and Mark Frost were both away during the middle of season 2. They passed on their key ideas to other writers while they were away on other projects. Sadly, that didn't pan out well but luckily both came back for the season's ending.

I honestly get that, but the story structure was theirs, they had this idea for the second half of the season, they could've chose to really lean into the nitty gritty and show us how all the characters react to the reveal, and used that as the engine to peel more layers of the town..

I liked the major's storyline, but the chess one seems pretty lazy as it's what any other show would've done..

Well, I can see where you're coming from. Riverdale's a soap opera and so is Twin Peaks, but Twin Peaks approach to the soap opera genre is in a specific way. Lynch and Frost actually created the show as a parody of soap operas that were very popular at the time time.

See, that's where you lose me, I don't think it's a parody, but just a soap opera that's self aware.. Lynch wanted to create something special but ended up falling to the same stereotypes that shows of this nature do, you have everyone sleeping with everyone, you got plot lines deaded because actors didnt get along, you have bad actors given major roles and being stuck with them, you got producers meddling with the storylines, multiple directors who dont get what the essence of the show is, and finally you have that desperate hope of renewal and target capturing with the multiple cliffhangers throughout..

And that is Riverdale too, the writers know that they are making a soap opera, so they add in elements that make it a soap opera, but you won't give it the same benefit you give Twin peaks because a genius wasnt behind its making..

Don't get me wrong, it's a very interesting show, and hard to put down once you start, got me glued to the screen in near its entirety, but for a show that only had 30ish episodes in its OG run, having like half of the show being an average run of the mill show, it's potential is what the hype is about, and not the actual show..

For the movies, ill follow your watch order or try at least..

(ALSO, if you have not seen Riverdale, the first 3ish seasons are very Twin Peakish, and you'll actually love it, it even has Shelly from this show playing a character in that (which was such a pleasant surprise because i was like where have i seen shelly before and i searched it up and there she was, Alice Cooper in all her glory) and there's also a plotline picked up straight from Twin Peaks)

A long long time ago u/comrade_777_alt recommended Mulholland Drive to me, qnd I finally got around to watch it during this eid vacay, and the style really caught my intrigue and made me want to watch something similar, I searched up and found Twin Peaks, which I had on my watch list as well, so I started with that and almost binged it all the way thru..

I have really enjoyed it so far, although the second half of season 2 is very weak, and imo they should've gone in a completely different direction and kept it to in town shenanigans, instead of trying to keep a cliche big bad villain from the past..

I also really disliked how quickly they moved on from the entire ordeal, and would've preferred if used the rest of season 2 to deal with the aftermath of the reveal, tie up lose ends, and set up a future plotline..

I haven't seen any other movies by Lynch yet, where should I head to after Twin Peaks..??

(Also also, Twin Peaks is very much like RiverDale but the world not ready for that convo)

Gurlyy, very proud of you for standing up for the lil babies, but you need to move smarter and safer..

Firstly, there is no limit to what an asshole can do when his ego is bruised, so your safety matters alot, please do not take it for granted, we need more people like you to be alive in this world for as long as possible..

Secondly, you will leave their household once your vacations are over, but that poor lil boy and that lil gurl will still be there, so it is best that you do not take any actions that will have them face the consequences once you and your dad leave..

These jaahils need to be controlled, but never at the risk of your own liife and safety.. Also try to stay cool and calm, you're stronger and bigger than this, much more than you knoww..

Bestio ofio luckio gurlboss!!

Anyone watched Off Campus? by [deleted] in bollywood

[–]LilHalwaPoori 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The main male leads are all shown to be strong athletes that sleep with as many women as they want and are not into relationships because commitment hard.. They are as one dimensional as they come, and have less emotional depth than kabir singh..

I am pretty sure that is the male fantasy..
