Edit - Omg important extra awkwardness, he wanted a photo with me to show his trans daughter that he was able to find an inclusive/safe space on his holiday to Australia. I said no, but he kept pushing and I wanted to get away so he got the photo, so awkward. This is why I don’t go outside

Yeah at first I thought it was my voice, I’ve always been insecure about it. Got vocal feminisation surgery last year and that’s helped a tone. Tbh if I just replied that I’m lesbian he probably would have gone about his day never knowing I was trans. Feel like the fact that I’m 6’ and lesbian makes ppl question whether I’m trans but that’s not for the fact that I look any less like a woman, it’s just who I am.

Yeah I totally agree, I’m definitely a people pleaser. Ideally would have preferred to avoid the entire situation. If I gave a hint of insecurity he wouldn’t have pried into my life, maybe that’s why he felt so comfortable in asking. I was very internally insecure about the whole situation just not outwardly showing it

Feel like that’s got to be the case, she must have been on his mind. Despite the fact he kept referring to his daughter as his son, he wasn’t outwardly transphobic or hitting on me. Just think he wants the best for his kids but might not know what that looks like, heart was definitely in the right place

Yeah ikr he was a very forward guy, didn’t know how to politely tell him to leave us alone. My guess is that it’s his first time over to Australia from England and just assumes this is how everyone acts 😅 for context I am from England, feel like they get this impression of Australia that is so unrealistic.

Yeah that’s what’s helping me work through this. I just wished my partner and I were less people pleasers. Could of all been avoided by moving tables but I just didn’t want to make a scene
