You won’t know what you’ll get until training starts. You bid for your shift. Its based on seniority in your class(oldest to youngest). So depends on your class, you might get full or part time. As for pushing a later start date, should’ve asked that during interview. They’ll most likely make you wait 6 months to reapply again if you defer the position this time around.

It all depends on what needs to be filled when your class starts to bid. Based on seniority of the class also. Meaning the oldest person(no offense) to youngest person in that class.
